Welcome to 2021,
My name is Caz and in collaboration with Rebecca Cooper and Donna Wade we are proudly leading the Trinity community in 2021. Our staff are significant leaders in our school and we are blessed to have staff whose first priority is student learning.
A new Principal is a significant change to a community and there are often questions. I have communicated who I am and my expectations to staff. My hope is that you may have some understanding of who I am and my expectations after this newsletter.
I am a woman of faith, you can expect me to be equitable, questioning, resourceful and hardworking.
I am interested in relationships, you can expect me to be approachable, thankful and to rely on you.
I am and will stand for learning, you can expect me to be in partnership with you, understand your child’s needs, seek your collaboration, and ask difficult questions.
I met with the staff last week and took the opportunity to share with them who I am, as well I shared what others thought they should know about me. With that thinking, the question, what would others like the community to know about me is relevant.
My dad would like you to know; Mrs Perryman was so excited when she was given the news that she was going to be your Principal. She was also very aware of the multitude of responsibilities that come with the job. I am sure you will enjoy her as much as she will enjoy you.
My mum would like you to know; Mrs Perryman is tenacious, gracious, hardworking, but more importantly she now has the Trinitarian community as a focal point of her life, that means she will honour that responsibility, she will work collegially with everyone in the community and make sure that the community of Trinity is the best it has ever been. That is her strength that is her tenacity.
My husband, Ben would like you to know; She always comes from a place of love, she sets high standards for everyone so that everyone can reach their potential, this includes herself. She is approachable and non-judgemental, she often says to me “What would Jesus do” when she is having a hard time.
Swimming Carnival: WOW, Trinity really know how to run a carnival!!! What an amazing day; student engagement, student achievement, student celebration all done with such high standards. The focus on all students being engaged and all students achieving their PB was exceptional. So many students said to me ‘Mrs Perryman, I did my PB. Congratulations to the community lead by Donna for such a magnificent day.
Meet & Greet: Please join us next Wednesday for Meet and Greet. At each presentation I will share with parents and carers our system and school goals. I strongly encourage you to come along as this will be an opportunity for you to understand the significant focus on learning that Trinity will have.
Sessions are:
K-2: 6.00pm-6.30pm
3-4: 6.30pm-7.00pm
5-6: 7.00pm-7.30pm
A BBQ will be available for all families in the library courtyard.
Canteen: The school canteen will operate every Thursday and Friday for lunches. Each Thursday there will be a $2.50 sweet treat and on Fridays a $6.50 meal deal. Please note there is no canteen available for lunch orders on Wednesday! The canteen is also open Wednesday to Friday at Recess for ice blocks etc. A menu will be sent home today.
Gods love to you and your families,
Caz Perryman
My son Jordan, who is 24, says to me “Mum what an awesome time to be alive”
He is so right, we can be our best selves, today.
Welcome Back
Welcome to the beginning of the 2021 school year. I trust the holiday break was relaxing and allowed you time to enjoy company of family and friends. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all students, parents, staff and friends of the community a warm welcome back to a productive and happy first term. To new staff and families at Trinity, we wish you a happy association with our school community and look forward to working with you throughout the year.
Trinity School Theme for 2021
Our theme for this year is ‘Journeying Together in FAITH, HOPE and LOVE.’ Our school is a welcoming community coming together to live out our Catholic Faith. We journey together to succeed, through God, and from providing a holistic education for life. "Patience, persistence and Faith, Hope and Love make an unbeatable combination for success." In 2021, may we work together throughout the school year to ensure that whatever we do, we do well.
Why Faith, Hope and Love?
These three are at the heart of Christian discipleship. They are the height, length, breadth and depth of relationship with God. They describe the development of God’s life within us through the Spirit.
The beginning, despite the order, is LOVE.
There is no other beginning in God but love. God ‘is’ and ‘does’ love. It is love / God that continually draws us into being. It is love that leads God to become one with us in Christ, to invite us into relationship, to labour to heal and set free. It is the Holy Spirit of love that burns within, leading us deeper into God and drawing us into God’s active compassion for all.
Faith and hope are the fruit of love... and the means by which we are transformed by love.
Faith is the choice made to trust God with what is important to us. Through faith we become open to receive the love that is God. Our life becomes established in love.
I pray that according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love [Ephesians 3: 14 – 21]
Hope leads us to act purposefully in the present as we anticipate the work of Love in the future through drawing on the memory of love received in the past.
And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace by your faith in him, until by the power of the Holy Spirit, you overflow with hope" [Romans 15: 13]
Faith and hope together are the human but God-given response to love. And faith and hope enable us to live within and to express the love in which we are created and held. Through faith and hope we open the way for love to bring us into the fullness of our individuality. Through faith and hope, love creates us, and in this love, through faith and hope, we become cocreators with God.
Alter Serving
We encourage students from Year 5/6 to join Father Lolesio in training as Altar Servers for 2021. Not only is Altar Serving an important role in school and parish life, but also a strong leadership role at Trinity. Notes went home with Year 5/6 students with further details and training sessions. Thanks to everybody for their support in this.
Welcoming School Mass
Next Thursday 11th February you are invited to join us as we celebrate Eucharist and ask God’s blessing for the school’s year. Mass will begin at 10:30am and will be followed by morning tea. This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome back returning students, parents, staff and to especially welcome our new Kindy students, staff and families. During the mass, the 2021 school leaders will receive their Ministerial badges and will pledge to work together to share God’s love in word and in deed.

Prayer for the Start of the School Year
Lord, please bless all our students, staff and families as they make their way back to a new school year. Help them to feel excitement and joy in the promise of a new start. Give them everything they need to experience success throughout the year. We pray our students may be filled with imagination and creativity to make wonders out of what they have. We pray our staff may be filled with wisdom all year. Help them quickly spot the little souls who are going to need something extra from them this year. Help them have just the right words of encouragement for each student. Amen
Sacramental Information
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Sacramental Program 2021
The Sacramental preparation for children in our Parish continues in 2021. The Church, along with the members of Our Lady of Mercy Parish community recognises the importance of parents as the first religious educators of their children. The influence of parents, grandparents and extended family is of primary importance in contributing to the faith formation of our children. In 2021 our dedicated parishioners and staff will once again provide support for families during this special time, as our children prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
Our preparation sessions will be conducted on Wednesday evenings over a period of 5 weeks. With the obvious time constraints, it is critical that your child and a support family member attend all the preparation sessions and the Retreat, to adequately prepare our candidates for the reception of these Sacraments.
Preparation Sessions
Wednesday 10th, 17th and 24th February 3rd, and 10th March
5.00-6.00pm at Trinity Catholic School Library
Retreat
Monday 15th March 9.00am at St. Anthony’s Church (whole day for candidates only))
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Wednesday 17th March 6.00pm at St. Anthony’s Church

Thought of the Week
Wishing everybody a wonderful term,
God Bless

Trinity Swimming Carnival
Trinity’s Annual Swimming Carnival was held this week at the Harden pool. All children participated with great enthusiasm in their events which included 12m, 25m, 50m, 100m and 200m events as well as lots of novelties and fun relays.
The parent/staff/ex-student relay again delivered much entertainment for the students and spectators and was well supported with four teams entering the fun. The GOLD team was Jen, Brenden, Amber McKay and Lauren Oakley. The BLUE team was Penny, Charlie, Poppy Lucas and Katie Butt. RED House entered two teams into the race. Team One was Beck and Bella Cooper, Jo Birks and Ali Betts Congratulations to the second RED team of Ethan and Liam Birks, Mark Sumich and Chaz Cooper on bringing home the glory with SPEED and GRACE, closely followed by the Blue team.
All students participated eagerly in the traditional ‘March Past, and ‘Chant Cheering’ as well as continuing to cheer on their teammates throughout the day with many NEW chants entertaining the crowd this year. The marching was amazing with BLUE House declared the winners, followed by GOLD House and RED House awarded third place.
Once again, the support given at the carnival by our parents, community members and past students was overwhelming and contributed to the carnival’s success. We are very grateful at Trinity for the continuing support of these wonderful people. We were especially grateful to have Father Lolesio at our carnival to support us over the day and help with the judging of team chants as well. Thanks Father Lolesio!
The GOLD House of ‘ROBERTS’ was declared the overall winning team again this year, continuing on their success from last year. RED House of ‘Murray’ finished in a close second place and BLUE House of ‘Hennessy’ third.
Timothy Olotu and Angus Oldfield were presented with special encouragement trophies for their fabulous participation and efforts at the carnival and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.
The senior students are to be commended for their participation and support of their teams, particularly their encouragement of the infant students in the 12m and 25m events. The Sports Captains, Riley Jackson, Willow Stevenson, Angus Oldfield, Tom Bassingthwaighte, Samantha Daken and Talia McKay, all did an amazing job in their leadership roles during the carnival.
