Welcome Back

Welcome to the beginning of the 2021 school year. I trust the holiday break was relaxing and allowed you time to enjoy company of family and friends. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all students, parents, staff and friends of the community a warm welcome back to a productive and happy first term. To new staff and families at Trinity, we wish you a happy association with our school community and look forward to working with you throughout the year.

Trinity School Theme for 2021

Banner.jpg

Our theme for this year is ‘Journeying Together in FAITH, HOPE and LOVE.’ Our school is a welcoming community coming together to live out our Catholic Faith. We journey together to succeed, through God, and from providing a holistic education for life. "Patience, persistence and Faith, Hope and Love make an unbeatable combination for success." In 2021, may we work together throughout the school year to ensure that whatever we do, we do well.

Why Faith, Hope and Love?

These three are at the heart of Christian discipleship. They are the height, length, breadth and depth of relationship with God. They describe the development of God’s life within us through the Spirit.

The beginning, despite the order, is LOVE.

There is no other beginning in God but love. God ‘is’ and ‘does’ love. It is love / God that continually draws us into being. It is love that leads God to become one with us in Christ, to invite us into relationship, to labour to heal and set free. It is the Holy Spirit of love that burns within, leading us deeper into God and drawing us into God’s active compassion for all.

Faith and hope are the fruit of love... and the means by which we are transformed by love.

Faith is the choice made to trust God with what is important to us. Through faith we become open to receive the love that is God. Our life becomes established in love.

I pray that according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love [Ephesians 3: 14 – 21]

Hope leads us to act purposefully in the present as we anticipate the work of Love in the future through drawing on the memory of love received in the past.

And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace by your faith in him, until by the power of the Holy Spirit, you overflow with hope" [Romans 15: 13]

Faith and hope together are the human but God-given response to love. And faith and hope enable us to live within and to express the love in which we are created and held. Through faith and hope we open the way for love to bring us into the fullness of our individuality. Through faith and hope, love creates us, and in this love, through faith and hope, we become cocreators with God.

Alter Serving

We encourage students from Year 5/6 to join Father Lolesio in training as Altar Servers for 2021. Not only is Altar Serving an important role in school and parish life, but also a strong leadership role at Trinity. Notes went home with Year 5/6 students with further details and training sessions. Thanks to everybody for their support in this.

Welcoming School Mass

Next Thursday 11th February you are invited to join us as we celebrate Eucharist and ask God’s blessing for the school’s year. Mass will begin at 10:30am and will be followed by morning tea. This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome back returning students, parents, staff and to especially welcome our new Kindy students, staff and families. During the mass, the 2021 school leaders will receive their Ministerial badges and will pledge to work together to share God’s love in word and in deed.

Prayer for the Start of the School Year

Lord, please bless all our students, staff and families as they make their way back to a new school year. Help them to feel excitement and joy in the promise of a new start. Give them everything they need to experience success throughout the year. We pray our students may be filled with imagination and creativity to make wonders out of what they have. We pray our staff may be filled with wisdom all year. Help them quickly spot the little souls who are going to need something extra from them this year. Help them have just the right words of encouragement for each student. Amen

Sacramental Information

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Sacramental Program 2021

The Sacramental preparation for children in our Parish continues in 2021. The Church, along with the members of Our Lady of Mercy Parish community recognises the importance of parents as the first religious educators of their children. The influence of parents, grandparents and extended family is of primary importance in contributing to the faith formation of our children. In 2021 our dedicated parishioners and staff will once again provide support for families during this special time, as our children prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

Our preparation sessions will be conducted on Wednesday evenings over a period of 5 weeks. With the obvious time constraints, it is critical that your child and a support family member attend all the preparation sessions and the Retreat, to adequately prepare our candidates for the reception of these Sacraments.

Preparation Sessions

Wednesday 10th, 17th and 24th February 3rd, and 10th March

5.00-6.00pm at Trinity Catholic School Library
