Trinity Swimming Carnival
Trinity’s Annual Swimming Carnival was held this week at the Harden pool. All children participated with great enthusiasm in their events which included 12m, 25m, 50m, 100m and 200m events as well as lots of novelties and fun relays.
The parent/staff/ex-student relay again delivered much entertainment for the students and spectators and was well supported with four teams entering the fun. The GOLD team was Jen, Brenden, Amber McKay and Lauren Oakley. The BLUE team was Penny, Charlie, Poppy Lucas and Katie Butt. RED House entered two teams into the race. Team One was Beck and Bella Cooper, Jo Birks and Ali Betts Congratulations to the second RED team of Ethan and Liam Birks, Mark Sumich and Chaz Cooper on bringing home the glory with SPEED and GRACE, closely followed by the Blue team.

All students participated eagerly in the traditional ‘March Past, and ‘Chant Cheering’ as well as continuing to cheer on their teammates throughout the day with many NEW chants entertaining the crowd this year. The marching was amazing with BLUE House declared the winners, followed by GOLD House and RED House awarded third place.

Once again, the support given at the carnival by our parents, community members and past students was overwhelming and contributed to the carnival’s success. We are very grateful at Trinity for the continuing support of these wonderful people. We were especially grateful to have Father Lolesio at our carnival to support us over the day and help with the judging of team chants as well. Thanks Father Lolesio!
The GOLD House of ‘ROBERTS’ was declared the overall winning team again this year, continuing on their success from last year. RED House of ‘Murray’ finished in a close second place and BLUE House of ‘Hennessy’ third.

Timothy Olotu and Angus Oldfield were presented with special encouragement trophies for their fabulous participation and efforts at the carnival and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.

The senior students are to be commended for their participation and support of their teams, particularly their encouragement of the infant students in the 12m and 25m events. The Sports Captains, Riley Jackson, Willow Stevenson, Angus Oldfield, Tom Bassingthwaighte, Samantha Daken and Talia McKay, all did an amazing job in their leadership roles during the carnival.
