Dear parents and carers,
This term we have Catholic Education Officers coming to work with us on various aspects of teaching and learning at Trinity. This includes, Ross Fox, the Director of Catholic Education, the Inclusions Team and Kerry O'Callaghan, CE's Indigenous Officer. We are grateful for the expertise of these officers and look forward to working with them to continue delivering excellence in education.
ANNUAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN
There are six areas of our Annual Improvement Plan that have been highlighted as our focus for TERM THREE. They are
1. KNOWING the school vision statement and what it means.
2. HAVING Fr Loli in the classroom during Religious Education lessons.
3. IMPLEMENTING high impact teaching strategies in the classroom.
4. STREAMLING record keeping onto Compass.
5. EXPANDING the Writing Revolution strategies in classrooms.
6. KNOWING the content knowledge of the curriculum.
1. KNOWING the school vision and what it means.
A Vision is an inspirational statement that describes what an organisation or group of people hopes to be in the future. The Vision is essential in that it drives where the company or group of people are going. Do you think you could answer these questions about our Vision?
What is the Trinity Vision?
What part of the Trinity Vision are we exploring in 2022?
What does the part we are exploring this year mean?
I will be interviewing every student over the coming weeks to see what their responses are. I will publish the results in the newsletter.
JACKSON'S BAKERY
I would like to give a massive shout out to Nicole and Trent Jackson who have gone above and beyond to support our big fundraiser for Term Three. Nicole's can do attitude was overwhelming throughout the whole process and Trent's dedication to cooking 453 pies on top of his normal day of work blew me away. Thank you Nicole and Trent I personally am very grateful for your service to the community and I know our students will are thankful to you.
Thank you to the families who supported this pie drive, I know in these very cold nights they will be enjoyed by all. I think it would be remiss of me not to mention the Kerrison, Summerfield and Corkhill families, whose order was over $500. In my original letter I did ask families to support us by asking outside immediate family, wow, that was certainly achieved. Thank you. Finally thank you to Bernie Corkhill, Kirsty Edwards, Fiona Bassingthwaighte, Nicole Jackson and Joan Jones for putting the boxes together, packing the pies and ensuring the right pie gets to the right family. What a massive job! It is events like these when everyone does what they can that our community grows.
FESTIVAL OF LITERACY
On the 23 and 25 August, Trinity will be holding the Inaugural Festival of Literacy, held in Book Week, it will be a celebration of all things Literacy. We will be celebrating at the Mechanics Hall with special guests running workshops on Tuesday 23 August and performing for the community on Thursday 25 August. The performance will begin at 10am at the Mechanics Hall, finish by about 11am, followed by a wonderful Book Week Parade and Great Race down the main street of Harden. The Festival will also be a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping early at the Book Fair. TWIN TOWN TIMES
As you know I am very keen to share the wonderful learning that occurs at Trinity with our community. As well, we have been placing a huge emphasis on reading to encourage students to read every night. Each student to reach milestones of 25 nights, receives a gesture of encouragement. We now have three students who have read for 150 night this year- an excellent effort! Look out in the Twin Times to see these students feature in the paper. Well done Dara, Dakota and Lana.
PRAYERS IN TIMES OF SORROW
We offer our prayers and thoughts for the Sumich and Gadd famiies as they grieve the loss of family members. We ask the strength of the Holy Spirit envelope them in the love of God. Eternal rest grant unto Michael Gadd and Max Sumich and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace Amen.
Peace be with you.

Team Trinity Leader
Around the Classrooms in RE
This week we visit the classroom of Year 5/6 who have been exploring and reflecting on scripture from The Old Testament. Students have been learning about the story of Exodus and how it relates to us today. The story of Exodus teaches us about people’s yearning to be free. Year 5/6 have been unpacking the Exodus Story in relation to the modern world and the need for democracy.
Mary MacKillop
THE FEAST OF SAINT MARY MACKILLOP - FEAST DAY - 8 AUGUST
Mary MacKillop was an ordinary woman who lived an extraordinary and unconventional life. As a woman of faith, courage, and hope, she triumphed over adversity and obstacles, responding to the needs of her time.
Mary MacKillop was an educator, a pioneer and a leader, someone who had compassion for others regardless of their situation or race.
Mary had a sincere belief in the value of education as the foundation for a fulfilling life. It is this belief which was the foundation of Mary’s motto:
‘Never see a need without doing something about it’.
This led her to minister in many ways to those who were poor and pushed to the margins.

Mary MacKillop Prayer
God of the Pilgrim, Mary MacKillop trusted your guidance in her journey of life and deepened her confidence in your will. May we renew our trust in your Providence to lead us to hope as we bring our prayer before you. May we grow in the fullness of your love and the depth of your mystery. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Way, our Truth, and our Life. Amen.
Whole School Liturgy
Next Friday, Mr Niddrie and Year 3/4 will lead our students in a Liturgy for The Assumption of Mary. Under the current circumstances and protocol, we are unable to have visitors attend our indoor events, including masses. We will, however, endeavour to film or livestream wherever possible. Thank you for your continued support during these times.
Assumption of Mary Liturgy
THE FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION – 15th AUGUST
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Feast Day is celebrated August 15. Our Catholic tradition teaches us that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was assumed body and soul into Heaven as a reward for her faithfulness. Her life and devotion should be an example for all of us. The Assumption of Mary is one of the most important events in the Christian community. This day is considered as the heavenly birthday of our Virgin Mary. https://www.loyolapress.com/catholic-resources/saints/saints-stories-for-all-ages/assumption-of-mary/

It has been great to see the number of ‘Reading Nights’ children have recorded in their home reading log.
Once children reach a reading goal of nights they are rewarded with a sticker for their book from Mrs Perryman.
