EXCELLENCE
I was having a discussion at the Community Council last week and mentioned how important it is to me that everyone knows I believe every child deserves excellence. You may ask, where does this statement come from? I have a deep belief that every child is made in the image and likeness of God, every child is born into this world with a purity that is beyond our comprehension. Because God is love, and every chid is made in God's image, they are loved, deserving of love and all it encompasses. Excellence is part of that. There is no child that does not deserve that. At Trinity excellence is for everyone.

PARISHONERS
I am delighted to see parishoners reading our newsletter on a Sunday, it warms my heart to know so many people are interested in our beautiful school. Now that Covid restrictions have lifted it is my hope and desire that our parish will feel and become a greater part of life at Trinity Catholic Primary. Currently we are beginning to prepare for 2022 Book Week, 20-26 August. This year the theme is:
I am currently creating a committee of people who would like to be part of organising some community activities for this week. What will it be- who knows, but with many ideas we are bound to come up with something AMAZING. So please do approach me after mass or contact me on 63862111 or caz.perryman@cg.catholic.edu.au
WELCOMING NEW FAMILIES
Welcoming new families into our school is key in ensuring Trinity is able to continue to serve our whole school community with the superior level of attention that we have become known for. Most recently I have been asking members of our community to help support the school by getting the word out about our school.
There are 3 ways that will support us:
1. Share our Facebook page & posts with your network – visit https://www.facebook.com/TCSHarden/
2. Write an honest review on our Facebook page or our Google web listing
3. Pick up the phone/send a text to any families you know are enrolling a child in school next year or 2024. Let them know that our enrolment period is open and our Open Days are:
Thursday 9 June 9.30am-1pm
Wednesday 31 August 9.30am-1pm
Thursday 10 November 9.30am-1pm
You may like to share a link to our enrolments page on our website https://trinitym.nsw.edu.au/thinking-of-enrolling
I am incredibly proud of our school community and what we are able to offer our students. Our faith and values are woven into the curriculum and school-life. We work hard to develop the social and emotional wellbeing of our students’, as well as their academic abilities. We focus on providing new and exciting opportunities for students to keep them engaged and growing. I would like to thank-you personally for all your support and the contribution you make to helping our school have such a positive environment.

National SORRY Day
National Sorry Day is held every year on May 26th.
National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of stolen generations survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation.
At Trinity, in recognition of Sorry Day, our classes made hands, feet and flags with a central poster of the world cupped in hands.
The idea behind our Trinity poster is:
‘With many hands of support, we can walk together to become united’

‘Be Brave – Make a Change’
National Reconciliation Week—held every year from 27th May to 3rd June—is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Feast Day – May 24th
Thought of the Week
Wishing everybody a wonderful week.

Peer Support
Week 2 – Showing You Care
During Peer Support last week the students looked at the notion that what they choose to spend their time on often reflects the values they have. The activities also assisted them in identifying ways they care for themselves and others, developing their understanding that you are caring when you notice the feelings and needs of yourself and others.
During the week encourage your child to demonstrate they are caring by doing something helpful or displaying kindness around the home.

Week 3 – Caring For Friends
This week in Peer Support the students participated in activities helping them to identify and accept differences in people. They also identified ways they can demonstrate being caring through their actions.
Discuss with your child the importance of accepting differences in other people. Perhaps take the time to identify and discuss the various differences people may have eg appearance, religion, culture, disabilities. Ask your child to share the qualities they appreciate in their friends.

Yr 5/6 Excursion to Bathurst
It was an early start this morning for our Year 5/6 students, Miss Wade, Mrs Burns and Mrs Davis! There was lots of excitement as they all loaded onto the bus heading to Bathurst for the day. They are visiting Bathurst Goldfields, a reconstruction of a gold mining village which has a mine, a working stamper battery crushing ore, operative steam engines, a miner's hut, a blacksmith's forge and gold panning. A full report will feature in our next newsletter!

National Simultaneous Storytime
National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual event where a picture book, written and illustrated by Australians, is read simultaneously in schools all over the country! On Thursday, Trinity students gathered in the Library at 11am (along with over 2 million children throughtout Australia and NZ) to listen to the book, 'Family Tree'by Josh Pyke and Ronojoy Ghosh, which follows a newly planted seedling and a family as they both set down roots and grow. The students loved listening to this inspiring story - thank you to Mrs Doolan for organising this fabulous event.

If you can help on the day, we would normally ask you to indicate via compass, however there seems to be challenges with the form. Thank you in this instance, please contact the front office staff.

This year all students from K-6 have been given a Home Reading Log where they are to record their reading each night.
It has been great to see the number of ‘Reading Nights’ children have recorded in their home reading log.
Once children reach a reading goal of nights they are rewarded with a sticker for their book from Mrs Perryman.
Keep up the great reading!!
