Week 2 – Showing You Care
During Peer Support last week the students looked at the notion that what they choose to spend their time on often reflects the values they have. The activities also assisted them in identifying ways they care for themselves and others, developing their understanding that you are caring when you notice the feelings and needs of yourself and others.
During the week encourage your child to demonstrate they are caring by doing something helpful or displaying kindness around the home.

Week 3 – Caring For Friends
This week in Peer Support the students participated in activities helping them to identify and accept differences in people. They also identified ways they can demonstrate being caring through their actions.
Discuss with your child the importance of accepting differences in other people. Perhaps take the time to identify and discuss the various differences people may have eg appearance, religion, culture, disabilities. Ask your child to share the qualities they appreciate in their friends.

Yr 5/6 Excursion to Bathurst
It was an early start this morning for our Year 5/6 students, Miss Wade, Mrs Burns and Mrs Davis! There was lots of excitement as they all loaded onto the bus heading to Bathurst for the day. They are visiting Bathurst Goldfields, a reconstruction of a gold mining village which has a mine, a working stamper battery crushing ore, operative steam engines, a miner's hut, a blacksmith's forge and gold panning. A full report will feature in our next newsletter!
