Britain has lost its queen, but the world has lost the queen. The first three people in line to file past Elizabeth II’s coffin when lying in state at Westminster Hall were from Ghana, Wales and Sri Lanka. As they view the flowers piling up in Green Park, tourists from Egypt and Northern Ireland are discussing royal nicknames. Some 4 billion people are expected to watch the funeral on Monday. How did the queen stir such affection across the globe? The secret was partly in her silence. By never betraying her opinions, she allowed people to project onto her whatever they wished her to be. This also enabled people to feel a personal connection to someone they had never met. The power of silence......
We pray for the members of the Royal Family throghout this time of grief.
Almighty God, source of all consolation,
we pray for the members of the Royal Family who mourn the loss
of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
Uphold them in your love and pour out on them the consolation of your healing Spirit.
Let them find in your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ
comfort in their sadness, certainty in their doubt
and courage to live through this hour.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thursday 22 September will be a one off public holiday to mourn the loss of the queen.

Prayer in Honour of Queen Elizabeth II
"Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ exchanged the glory of a heavenly throne for the form of a servant, we thank you that you have given Elizabeth our Queen a heart to serve her people, and have kept her devoted in this service beyond all who were before her:
encourage us by her example to serve one another, and to seek the common good, until you call us all to reign with Christ in your eternal kingdom. Amen
K-2 Liturgy
Last week K-2 led our school in a beautiful prayer liturgy. The theme was the ‘Mission of Jesus’. During the liturgy, we were reminded that Jesus took on a great mission to be God’s love in the world and we can learn great things from His Ministry. K-2 students’ reflection was a wonderful performance highlighting Jesus’ Mission through the adventures of Nemo.
Around the Classrooms in RE
In Stage 3 Religious Education, students have been learning about the history of the Israelites and their place in God’s family as His Chosen People. The Israelites experience of God is recorded in the Old Testament. God gave them a motto to live by:
Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength
- Deuteronomy 6:5
This week in RE, students reflected on the knowledge passed on to them from their own families: their parents and grandparents, relatives, and friends. Often families share mottos of their own, just like God did. Students created their own mottos and designed a poster to illustrate them. These are some of the mottos.
“Just be kind, no matter what you do” (Somer)
“Always be yourself: don’t let others overtake you” (Zoe)
“Listen and be kind” (Bella)
“Love and respect everyone” (Bea)
“Listen to hear: Listen to act” (Melanie)
“Love the Lord with all your heart” (Dara)
“A kind heart goes a long way” (Michael)
“Love others always: a smile goes a long way” (Billy)
“Be kind to others” (Thomas)

Year 5/6 News
Miss Wade and Year 5/6 have been very fortunate to welcome Miss Rosanne Arber into their classroom for the last three weeks of this term as a ‘Practice Teacher’. Miss Arber is in her 2nd year of teaching through the University of New England. For the last 3 years, Rose has been working as a School Learning Support Officer. Rose is passionate about her journey. She said: “I enjoy the challenges and rewards that I encounter daily. I have decided to become a primary teacher as I would like to be a part of educating the young minds of today. I am a passionate, ready-to-learn person who wants to inspire and educate the children of our society”.
Rose has embraced teaching with passion and dedication. The experience she has encountered at Trinity, particularly in the classroom, has been most rewarding. The Trinity Community has been fortunate to receive Rose into Team Trinity these past three weeks.
We wish Rose all the best in her future ventures as she pursues her aspirations in teaching.
