Feast of the Assumption of Mary Mass

Yesterday we gathered together in worship to celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our Catholic tradition teaches us that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was assumed body and soul into Heaven as a reward for her faithfulness. Her life and devotion should be an example for all of us. Thank you to the Year 5 / 6 children for leading the ministries and to the Choir for their amazing singing. This made it a very special mass for the many parishioners and families who attended.

Prayer

Mary, Mother of Jesus and our Mother.
In the power of the Holy Spirit,

you received the Word of God.
We turn to you today and
every day for guidance, wisdom,
courage and understanding.
We entrust our prayers to you
as we seek your help each day.

Family Mass

Our next Family Mass for this term will be on Sunday 25^th August. This will be our last family mass with Father Joshy. Notes went home this week detailing this mass and asking for any children who would like to help lead the ministries and singing. I encourage as many families as possible to come along and join in the mass to support our Parish and Father Joshy.

Making Jesus Real – Focus on Attitude

Each and every day at Trinity teachers are instilling the values of Making Jesus Real in our daily lives. This week our focus is on ‘Healthy Attitudes’. We have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the evitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. (Charles Swindoll) And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.
