We are well into Term One 2023 and all students have made a wonderful start to the year.

There have been significant changes to the way we communicate with parents and the lack of questions has confirmed we are MEETING YOUR NEEDS!!!! The following is a breakdown of communication for parents.

	Purpose	Timing
Facebook	Posts on Facebook are a  celebration of teaching and learning, this will include weekly awards, students who represent Trinity, classroom learning, and special events.	Events as they occur Weekly awards All classes learning will feature on Facebook at least once a term.
Compass	Compass is the first place to access the calendar. All permission notes, reminders, attendance records, changes, and student reports are on Compass. They are not on any other communication platform.	Notifications on Compass are sent with each notice. These are regular and may need your attention before the next day.
Newsletter	The newsletter is written to provide up-to-date information on the strategic plan for the school. It will provide background information and research into Trinity's strategic plan.	The newsletter will be sent out in weeks five and ten of each term.

Our Strategic Plan

We have 5 BIG ROCKS, that maintain our focus on teaching and learning. 

Big Rock Number 1- We are deepening our understanding of TO KNOW, TO LOVE, TO SERVE

Big Rock Number 2-We are developing a culture of coaching amongst all staff.

Big Rock Number 3-We are developing the effectiveness of our intervention.

Big Rock Number 4- We are developing our skills in explicit instruction.

Big Rock Number 5-We are developing our ability to check for understanding.

Trinity has a COGlearn coach, her name is Rachel. COGlearn works with schools in Australia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong to utilise proven scientific methods from cognitive psychology and evidence-informed programs and practices to improve student learning. 

Rachel is currently coaching Team Trinity on direct instruction, specifically Spelling Mastery and Connecting Maths Concepts. She will visit each classroom on the four occasions she will visit Trinity. Rachel's comment last week to Team Trinity was, "You are my best school, " the proof is in the results. The marking criteria in the program is very high, hence the name Spelling Mastery. For the last two tests, we have achieved 

80% of students are SUPER SPELLERS

10% are VERY GOOD SPELLERS

10% are working towards VERY GOOD SPELLERS

This equates to 90% of students making less than five errors in their spelling test.

2023 Foci To LOVE

Our school is a welcoming community coming together to live out our Catholic Faith. We journey together to love one another as God has loved us. In 2023, may we work together throughout the school year to ensure that whatever we do, we do well.

Throughout the year, our teachers will unpack our core scripture, John 13:34, with their students in the classroom and in the Trinity community, in what we do and what we say.

Project Compassion

The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, which also marks the beginning of the annual Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal. Donations to Project Compassion allow Caritas Australia, the Catholic Agency for International Aid and Development, to work with local communities around the world to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

The theme of Project Compassion is ‘For All Future Generations’. This phrase is a powerful affirmation that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come. It is also a call for all of us to play our part in making the world a better place by working together in finding long-term solutions to global issues.

This year, the theme asks us to think about the great ‘yes’ that Mary spoke when the angel told her she was to become the mother of Jesus. She freely accepted God’s invitation to take up a unique place in the history of the human family. The prayer Mary shared with her cousin Elizabeth says, “all generations will call me blessed.” Her ‘yes’ is for all future generations and reminds us that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come. It invites us to make the world a better place by working together now and finding long-term solutions to global issues.  We encourage you to put your compassion into action this Lent through your prayer, fasting, and almsgiving by supporting Project Compassion. Each Trinity family will receive a Project Compassion box for their donations, or you can donate online via the Caritas Australia website at:

St. Patricks Day Mini Fete

On Friday 17^th March (St. Patrick’s Day), our Year 6 Mini Vinnies team will lead a mini fete with a St. Patrick’s Theme. This initiative is to raise funds for Project Compassion. There will be games to play, cakes to purchase and fun to be had so start putting your small change away to get ready for our fundraising day. Well done to our Year 6 Mini Vinnies for this wonderful initiative!!
