Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal
We are starting to see some items come into the office for our annual Christmas Appeal. Thank you to our school community for these donations. Our Mini Vinnies team encourage each family to try their best to send in 1-3 items for this very important initiative.
This is an opportunity for staff, students, families, and our local community to get involved and make this Christmas a time to renew HOPE for so many.
Advent
During the First Week of Advent, we watch and pray, awaiting the Lord’s coming. The season of Advent reminds us that we can look forward to and prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas. It is a season of so many things: of expectation, reflection, hope and trust. We must wait, and Advent reminds us that we are waiting for God. How strange it is to think that in a way God also waits. He always waits for us to come to him for he never forces himself on us, and when we do come to him, he is delighted and will give us many graces.
This week, we recall the HOPE we have in Christ. The prophets of Israel all spoke of the coming of Christ, of how a saviour would be born, a king in the line of David. They spoke of how he would rule the world wisely and bless all nations.
