Welcome Back
Welcome to Term Three. It has been wonderful this week to witness the smiling faces of our students returning to school with such vibrancy. I hope all families have had the chance to rest and renew over the holidays with family and friends.
Prayer for the Start of Term
Lord, as we prepare for the coming of a new semester, make us ready, attentive, and available to hear you. Thank You for the gift of being able to rise each day with the assurance that You walk through it with us. Thank You for the gifts of creativity and uniqueness, and the energy to put them to good use. Amen
NAIDOC Mass
Today, our students joined the streamed viewing of our Archdiocesan NAIDOC Mass held at St Christopher’s Cathedral in Manuka. We appreciate the opportunity to come together as a community in prayer and are thankful to the CE Aboriginal Support Team for organising this. At Trinity, we celebrated NAIDOC week at the end of Term Two with a beautiful Liturgy led by K-2 and activities led by our Peer Support Leaders. The NAIDOC theme this year was: Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
National NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
Whole School Mass
Next Thursday, Year 5/6 will lead our students in prayer for the beginning of the term. Under the current circumstances and protocol, we are unable to have visitors attend our indoor events, including masses. We will, however, endeavour to film or livestream wherever possible. Thank you for your continued support during these times.
Thought of the Week
Wishing everybody a wonderful week.
God bless,
Donna Wade
