This week we celebrated the Easter story. My highlight was watching Basil in Kindergarten portray Jesus on Palm Sunday. The joy on his face, the excitement in his step and the enthusiasm of his singing, reminded me of how children can show us something of God. God understands the humanness of people and desires to connect with us through the human experiences of Jesus.

The joy of Palm Sunday is much easier than the story of the same group of people  harshly judging Jesus, eventuating in his death. What is the story of Good Friday all about? A very difficult question theologians have pondered, discussed and prayed upon for many years. Some time ago there was a break down in my family at Easter time. On Easter Sunday I listened carefully to the words of wisdom that I was hoping to receive from the homily. There is no Resurrection without Good Friday, was the message that particular Sunday. Although I took little solace at the time, I often now remember these words and thank God for the gifts of faith, hope and love. During times of destruction, darkness, jealousy and hatred there is always hope, and it is faith that keeps that hope alive and love that will conquer. Good Friday is the story of darkness embracing the faith, hope and love of the Resurrection.

May the blessings of Easter be with our staff, students, parents, carers and community members. During this Easter season, be sure to be the face of Jesus to all whom you encounter.

Our Annual Improvement Plan for 2022, contains nine goals. Most recently staff decided how they were individually tracking against those goals. As a result we have six foci for Term Two - click here to view diagram. Next term the six goals will feature in the newsletter for your tracking.

I'd like to wish the Clark family all the best on their move to Walcha. Archer, Digby and Hamish are beautiful boys and will be very much missed here at Trinity. Thank you to Amy and David for all the support and contributions they have given to our school. I'm sure St Patrick's School in Walcha will welcome you all with open arms.

All families are warmly invited to the ANZAC Day Community March on Monday 25 April. Please meet at the Post Office at 10am. Mrs Beck Cooper will place a message on Compass on Friday 22 April to let families know whether to wear summer or winter uniform.

School begins on Wednesday 27 April. We look forward to another term of learning at Trinity. God bless,

Caz Perryman
