From the Principal
Dear parents and carers,
A very big thankyou to the Community Council for running the BBQ at the Harden Red Devils game last weekend. We will be doing the same this weekend. Thankyou in anticipation to the families who are supporting this fundraising event, particularly those who fronted up last weekend and are returning this weekend. Many hands make light work.
Siloam
Siloam is a Principal’s Retreat held each term to enable Principal’s to nourish their spiritual journey, so that they may share God’s love in community. This week I attended Siloam with the focus on “Who do you say I am?” Jesus asked this question of the disciples, their response was generic, almost as if they were reporting back on who other “people” say Jesus is. Pondering this question revealed to me how deeply I believe Jesus is love. Jesus’ love is, and always will be for you and me, forever more. How lucky are we!
School Survey
As part of our focus on school improvement, we will be participating in an online survey – Tell Them From Me (TTFM). The survey is targeted at students, staff, and parents. The results of the survey will provide us with valuable feedback. This survey will be conducted with students (years four to six), staff and parents from Wednesday 26 May until Friday 11 June.
Your voice is particularly important to us, we would therefore like to invite you to complete the survey online. Please go to http://tellthemfromme.com/trinity21 and respond accordingly. The survey will close on Friday 11 June. Thank you in anticipation.
Semester 1 Reporting
Our teaching team has begun the process of creating each child’s Semester 1 2021 report. The following is a summary of the language used for reports this Semester. Please note, Catholic Education are currently exploring the best approach to reporting.
For Kindergarten students:
- achievement in each subject will be reported using a four-point scale (Well Above Expectations, Above Expectations, Meeting Expectations and Working Towards Expectations).
For Year 1 to Year 6 students:
- achievement for each subject will be reported using a five-point scale, A-E, the NSW Common Grade Scale.
- strand achievement will be reported in English, Mathematics, Human Society and its Environment, PDHPE and Creative Arts using a five-point scale (Excellent, High, Sound, Basic, Elementary).
For all students:
- engagement with learning statements, which are taken directly from the Australian Curriculum, will provide specific information about your child’s Critical and Creative Thinking, and Personal and Social Responsibility, using a three-point scale (Beginning, Developing, Consistently).
- individual student comments will not be used in the Semester 1 Reports.
Last year parent teacher interviews were held prior to the Semester Reports being sent home. The feedback from this was positive and we will continue this process for Semester One. Parent teacher interviews will be held from 14-18 June. Bookings will be online, and details will be sent home next week. The Semester Report will be sent home on Monday 21 June.
The new approach to Academic Reporting is a developing process. Further work will be undertaken in the coming months to determine how progress and achievement is best reported based on what we know to be important information about a student’s learning and progress.
QKR
At the Open Community Council last term many parents spoke of the desire for a more efficient system of payment for lunches- QKR is here. Many thanks to Leanne in the Front Office who has worked at getting this system up and running. Currently you can pay for your child’s lunch, school uniform, and school fees. Please click here to view the flyer on how to download and use this app.
A few reminders
Winter Uniform. Please send students to school in their winter uniform, including a tie. Students may tell you they are not cold; however, it is important to send a jumper to school in the event they start to feel the cold.

The fruit students eat at this time must be fresh fruit - berry flavoured yoghurt, tinned peaches and other processed fruit are not to be eaten during crunch and sip.
