From the Principal
Good afternoon parents and carers,
I am not at work today as I am moving into our new house. My husband and I are very excited about making our new space our home. We are very happy to be part of the Trinitarian community and give thanks to God for the privilege we are currently enjoying. Our 24-year-old son Jordan would say, “livin the dream Mum”.
CONFIRMATION
This weekend our senior students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is a significant step for our students, they are saying YES, I choose to confirm the promises my parents made for me. Special thanks to Julie Doolan, Donna Wade and Fr Lolieso who have prepared the students with such thought, prayer, and dedication. We pray for our friends from Murrumburrah Primary School who are also receiving the Sacrament this weekend.
REINFORCED READING PROGRAM
We had a very successful Reinforced Reading Program session this week with members of the parish, staff and parents attending. We are very committed to this program and will be facilitating another session at a different time to meet differing needs. The next session will be on the 10th June at 6pm with childcare and dinner for the children provided. Look out for this in future advertising. Beck Cooper has been instrumental in all aspects of this program and her efficiency and knowledge is an asset to our community.
BASKETBALL COURT
The basketball court has been out of action prior to my commencement at Trinity. I have been in consultation with CE in relation to these works and I am happy to advise that the basketball court will be resurfaced from 14 to 25 June. It will take this amount of time because the temperature needs to be at a certain level, if the temperature of the day does not reach the requirements further days are needed, hence two weeks are put aside. It is my hope that the students will be able to use the basketball court from the beginning of Term Three. Further drainage works are currently being investigated in relation to keeping the water off the basketball court. Many thanks to Leanne Davis for her on going support and input into this project.
TELL THEM FROM ME
Catholic Education are asking all schools to use the “Tell Them From Me” survey. This survey is designed to gain insight into the thinking of parents, carers, staff, and students. The survey is voluntary; I strongly encourage all parents and carers to respond to the survey. The information that is gained from the survey will significantly impact on the future direction of the school. Please look out for the access code.
You would have received a letter inviting you to let us know if you would prefer your child did not participate in the survey. Thank you for your response to this.
HARDEN RED DEVILS RUGBY UNION
We were blessed to be asked whether we would like to manage the Canteen for the Harden Red Devils Rugby Union this weekend. Members of our community will be attending to a BBQ, selling cupcakes, brownies, lollies and chips.
All profits will go to Trinity. Thank you to the Community Council for their efforts. Special thanks to Kacie Brooks for approaching us to take on this profitable community event. PLEASE contact Rebecca.cooper@cg.catholic.edu.au if you can help.
WALK TO SCHOOL DAY
Walk to School Day was celebrated a little differently on Monday. Instead of Walk Safely to School, students and staff hit the path and walked safely around Murrumburrah for approx 30 minutes. It was lovely getting out in the fresh air.
