NAPLAN
Trinity will be completing the annual NAPLAN assessment, National Assessment Program– Literacy and Numeracy. Students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 sit the assessment across all Australian schools. This year, the assessment will be conducted online using either iPads, tablets, Chrome books or laptops beginning on Tuesday, May 11th through to Thursday, May 13th.
Students have completed 'trial' assessments throughout this week to prepare them for the assessments. Students have had opportunities to become more familiar with the NAPLAN program and layout for different questions. This is important for both our Year 3 and Year 5 students as they have not completed NAPLAN using the online format. The four components of NAPLAN are Numeracy, Reading, Writing, and Language Conventions.
The National Assessment Program has created numerous documents, infographics, and videos to support parents/carers. This link https://www.nap.edu.au/resources, and https://nap.edu.au/docs/default-source/resources/naplan-online-information-brochure-for-parents-and-carers.pdf gives you access to all of their material. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact Jack Niddrie via email jack.niddrie@cg.catholic.edu.au or contact the school front office.
