Whole School Liturgy

RE_1.jpg

This week Miss Wade and Year 5/6 led a Whole School Liturgy at Trinity. The theme for the liturgy was ‘Friendship and Forgiveness’. We are thankful for the gift of friendship and ask God to protect and care for each of us as we continue our Lenten journey. We know that Lent is a special time to prepare ourselves for Easter and in doing so, be reconciled with God. God’s forgiveness is unlimited. When we receive forgiveness, we are encouraged to act in the same way by forgiving others.

St. Patricks Day Mufti Day

St_pats_day.jpgNext Wednesday is St. Patricks Day. The Year 6 Mini Vinnies team have organised for this day to be mufti to help raise funds for Project Compassion, so start looking for your green and gold colours in your wardrobe. Mufti will be a gold coin donation to go towards Project Compassion for this term.

Take some time out to pray.

200 Years of Catholic Education in Australia

The Logo Explained

The central symbols of the logo are:

  • The Christian cross - representing the faith dimension of Catholic schools and our mission of service in Christ
  • The Southern Cross and map of Australia - representing the Great South Land of Australia
  • Dots are used as a key design element connecting to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and our Australian heritage
  • The colours – burnt red and yellow – represent the desert in the heart of the Australian outback, contrasting with the deep blue representing the Southern sky and ocean surrounding our continent.

Fourth Sunday of Lent – 14th March

Caritas Project.jpg

During Week 4 of Lent, we meet Arsad.

Arsad, an Indonesian farmer, had no toilet at home and was often sick due to the practice of open defecation. Through Caritas Australia’s support, Arsad and his community improved hygiene and sanitation, and funded their own toilets.

Please donate to Project Compassion 2021 and help improve health and wellbeing of communities in Indonesia so they can work towards eradicating poverty, providing a better future for all.

Around the Classes in RE

I had the pleasure to take a walk through the classes this week and am delighted to share some of the wonderful work I saw happening in RE.

Kinder/1/2 are currently creating a big book of Psalms.

Year 3/4 have been exploring the Baptism of Jesus in Mark's Gospel.

Year 5/6 researched Vision and Mission statements from other schools and wrote their own for our school.
