Around the Classroom
Yr 4 Excursion
This week, Year 4 went on an adventure to Fitzroy Falls, we were looking further into our Geography unit and following up from a Science unit in Term 2. The students left school at 8:30 am and were on the bus for just over 2 and half hours! The bus was full of excitement and energy as we went up the highway and through some towns like Moss Vale and Bowral.
Once we arrived, the students were prepped and ready for a long nature walk, looking at the unique environments Australia has. We stopped at various lookout spots, getting different glimpses of the Waterfall, Grotto and extensive bushland below. The students walked over 6km in total, over (and under) rocks, through trees and we were lucky enough to see hundreds of native Australian plants.
Year 4 would like to thank Mr Bob Stevenson for driving the bus safely, even through the wild weather! We were also lucky enough to have Mrs Nicole Jackson and Mr Mark Sumich come along, taking photos, sharing incredible facts and helping guide us on our journey. The day wouldn’t have gone as smoothly if you were not there! I hope the kids came home and talked your ear off about the amazing things they saw over the day and shared some of the interesting things they learnt!
