Thanksgiving Mass

There will be a Thanksgiving Mass held at Trinity on Wednesday 2nd December at 10:30am. We warmly welcome our school community – our teachers, parents and community volunteers who have helped and supported us in any way throughout 2020. During the mass we will comply with Covid-19 restrictions and practice social distancing in the church. Unfortunately, we cannot meet for our ‘shared’ morning tea after mass however, each family/community member who attend will receive a token of our appreciation from Trinity at the end of mass.

Advent

The Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent. During the First Week of Advent, we watch and pray, awaiting the Lord’s coming. As we enter the Church’s new year, Cycle B, the season of Advent reminds us that we can look forward to and prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas. It is a season of so many things: of expectation, reflection, hope and trust. We are constantly in a state of expectation, always in advent, so much so that we can miss the present moment where, inevitably, God will be. We have to wait, and Advent reminds us that we are waiting for God. How strange it is to think that in a way God also waits. He always waits for us to come to him for he never forces himself on us, and when we do come to him, he is delighted and will give us many graces.

This week, we recall the HOPE we have in Christ.

Students and staff will hold a brief prayer service on Monday morning to light the first Advent candle, beginning our journey towards Christmas with a prayer for hope.

Prayer for the First Sunday of Advent

Let your blessing come upon us this Advent. May it turn our hearts to you in the days ahead. Grant us the peace and joy we long for, as we await the coming of your Son with patient hearts. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen

Graduation Mass

The Year 6 Graduation Mass will be held on Friday 11th December at 6pm. Due to the distancing restrictions and the need for extra room, the mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Church in Harden. During this special mass Year 5 and 6 students will celebrate the traditional handover of Leadership. Graduation mass will be followed by the traditional Graduation dinner held at Trinity Catholic School.

Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal

The Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal motto is:

CHRISTMAS IS NEAR,

MINI VINNIES ARE HERE

TO SPREAD SOME CHRISTMAS CHEER

This week our Mini Vinnies team officially launched their ‘Christmas Appeal’. Each classroom and the front office have a basket for donations of non-perishable food items or small gifts which may be suitable for younger children. These items will be bundled into hampers to be presented at our Thanksgiving Mass next Wednesday and then delivered to the Harden branch of St Vincent de Paul. We thank all families for your generosity and support in this Mini Vinnies initiative.
