Religious Education in the Classroom

In the 21^st Century RE classroom, teachers and students engage critically and creatively with Scripture passages through The Three Worlds of the Text: World Behind the Text, World of the Text, and World In Front of the Text. This teaching and learning method is designed to encourage students to learn from within the Bible and discover their own informed interpretation. 

What Does World Behind the Text mean?

The World Behind the Text helps students to understand the historical and social context in which the Biblical text was written.

It includes:

• date the biblical text was written
• What was going on when the text was written?
• What was life at that time like?
• authorship of the biblical text (person or sources)
• historical, social, and cultural context
• What can we learn about the culture, religion, history and geography of the text?
• What roles and relationships did people have at that time?

The students at Trinity experience rich lesson content and activities to consolidate their understandings in Religious Education.

Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal

Next week our Mini Vinnies team will officially launch their ‘Christmas Appeal’. Each classroom and the front office will be provided with a basket for donations which will be delivered to the Harden branch of St Vincent de Paul at the end of term.

We are seeking your support to help those less fortunate in our community through generous donations of non-perishable food items or small gifts which may be suitable for younger children. Your generosity and support is sincerely appreciated.
