Trinity Athletics Carnival
Our Annual Athletics Carnival will be held this Tuesday 18th June, 2019 at Trinity Catholic School. Please note the change of venue. Our school grounds look amazing after the recent rains. We are looking forward to returning to Trinity for the running of our Athletics carnival this year.
The Carnival will commence at 9.30am with Team Marching and will conclude with Presentations around 2.45pm.
There will be recess and lunch breaks. Parents will operate a canteen with a sausage sizzle, drinks and snacks. The children are to wear their team colours or sports uniform and joggers must be worn for all events.
We are seeking assistance from parents to help out on the BBQ and canteen and to assist staff with running the field events (shot put, discus, high jump and long jump) and infants’ novelty events. Please let Miss Wade know through the school office or via phone/email if you are able to assist.
Students are encouraged to participate in all events relevant to their age with points awarded for participation. Athletes turning 8 years and over will be chosen from our carnival to represent Trinity at the Western Region Carnival which will be held in Cootamundra on Friday 28th June.
Infants’ children will participate in shot put, discus, long jump, 100m and 200m track events as well as novelty events in their team houses – red, blue and gold.
The popular Team House Tug-o-war and relay for parents will again take place during the lunch break.
Students from Kinder to Year 6 have been training for the Athletics Carnival this term as part of the Physical Education Program. House captains will lead House Meetings to remind all students about the carnival and of course to revise and practise the popular ‘House Chants’. If you have any questions please contact the school or myself.
Thank you for your continued support of sport at Trinity
Have a wonderful week
