From the Principal
As the term is quickly coming to an end it is timely to reflect on the magnificent achievements of our students this term as well as significant events. It has been a particularly busy term, but we have experienced many moments to celebrate student success both in and out of the classroom. These events are always celebrated with spadesful of Trinity enthusiasm and style! Just to list these events clearly exuberates the amazing staff who work tirelessly to enable all of these things to happen to ensure our school continues to be the vibrant learning community that it is. The many key events this term included, Grandparents Day liturgy, School Liturgies and Assemblies via Zoom, Father’s Day Breakfast, Parliament, Australia’s Biggest Child Safety day, RU OK Day, Walk to School Day, House Spirit days, Chess Club, Tournament of Minds and last week the Trinity Athletics Carnival. This Wednesday, we had members of the Brumbies visit and our grand finale for the term-our annual In-School Trinity Public Speaking Competition.
Did you see our amazing Brumbies chant on FaceBook? This chant was played during the game. All of our students participated in the chant with great enthusiasm, cheering the Brumbies on for the Grand Final last Saturday night. The Brumbies were astounded at their amazing singing and the volume for such a small school! What a great team effort for our Trinity students. Thank you to Ms Wade for organising the chant and Josh Mann-Rea for coming in on his lunch break to introduce the students on the video.
The Trinity Public Speaking Competition was conducted today. We witnessed our students from Years 3 to 6 participate in the competition and on Wednesday we held the speak-offs. The standard of the speeches was extremely high, with the judges being astounded at the student’s delivery of their speeches. Every year they just get better and better. A special thank you to our special guest judges, Mrs Rita O’Connor and Mr Geoff Orchison. The judges commented on the standard of the speeches and the wonderful hospitality they received while visiting. After the speeches, the students who participated joined the staff for a beautiful morning tea in the Library. A special thank you to Ms Wade for her wonderful organisation and the staff for preparing the children and providing the morning tea. Unfortunately, this year there are no Inter-schools, Western Regions or Arch-Diocesan Public Speaking Competitions due to Covid19.
On Monday October 19, we will be conducting our first Orientation day for Kinder 2021 from 9am - 12pm. The children will be required to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle. More information will be sent to Bunyip at the beginning of next term. If you know of anyone who is turning 5 by July 31, 2021 and who would like to attend Trinity, please invite them to come along and join in the fun!
Today we received notification from CE and the Department of Health that we are allowed to have school excursions and camps. We will plan the have a Year 5/6 camp in Term 4 and will look into a number of destination options including rural NSW. More information will go home to parents early next term.
We wish you all a happy and safe holiday. All staff return to Trinity on Monday, October 12. The first two days of term 4 are designated days for staff professional development. We look forward to seeing all students return on Wednesday, October 14. They will need to be in their summer uniform and wear their hats when going outside to play. Should your children require any uniform, Leanne Davis will be available.
God Bless, stay safe and have a lovely holiday,
Marylou Gorham
