From the Principal

It never ceases to amaze me that as a small school that we relentlessly continue to provide opportunities for our children that are of high quality and are so jam packed with fun and involvement for all. When you look at the endless list of events that we have covered this term despite the restrictions in place around COVID19, we have certainly covered all aspects of the curriculum. This certainly resonates with the Trinity School mission which is to provide an all-inclusive approach which assists its students to develop spiritually, academically, physically, culturally and emotionally in an environment formed by Gospel values and the authentic teachings of the Church. Well done to the Trinity staff who go above and beyond to ensure that your children thrive and learn in a supportive environment where every child is given an opportunity to shine and develop their gifts and talents.

The cut-off to send your recipes in is TODAY (but we'll let you send them in over the weekend)!! Please email your favourite recipes ASAP to fiona.bassingthwaigh@cg.catholic.edu.au - Anything from Slow cooker recipes, mains, desserts, cakes, slices, salads etc. We are aiming for the cookbook to be ready before the end of the year just in time for Christmas!

What beautiful weather we were blessed with on Wednesday for our athletics carnival. All the students competed with great enthusiasm in the events and gave it their all. A special thank you to Donna Wade for her impeccable organisation and to the Trinity staff who assisted on the day. The Year 6 students lead their houses with fervour and passion, and they motivated and encouraged their houses all day.

Congratulations to the children who participated in the Tournament of Minds. Trinity entered two teams, a 'boys team' of Chaz Cooper, Angus Oldfield, Tom Bassingthwaighte, Billy Corkhill, Dara Olotu, Ryan Sumich and Hamish Clark, which their presentation was a lead discipline of STEM. The 'girls team' of Poppy Lucas, Amelia Loydell, Bea Lucas, Phoebe Bassingthwaighte, Somer Oldfield and Stevie-Rain Ford focused their presentation on the discipline of creative arts. We were all entertained with your high-quality presentations and the manner which you employed your problem solving, creativity and technological skills. A huge congratulations to the girls team who took out honours for their presentation on the Tassie Tiger. Please click on the following link to view their presentations:

A very special thank you to Penny Lucas for providing this wonderful opportunity for our students who competed with many other schools.

The Community Council met this week. A major topic of discussion was maintenance of the school. We are extremely grateful to CE who have done substantial repair work to the school roof, replacing cracked roof tiles and down pipes. Dave Menz does an amazing job on our school grounds with a substantial amount of mowing to be done. Recently we had to replace our ride-on mower to assist this. Fortunately your wonderful efforts to support fundraising assisted with this.

As of today, Leanne Davis and Rebecca Cooper will be on long service leave until next term and we wish them all the very best as they enjoy their hard-earned break. I will be absent for the first two weeks of term 4, also on long service leave, catching up with my daughter and her family in Darwin whilst also having a break.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

God Bless and keep well,

Marylou Gorham
