From the Principal
Congratulations to Jack Niddrie and Kaitlin Hudson who will be married this Saturday. We are very excited for the beautiful couple and we wish them all the very best for a beautiful day on Saturday and for many happy married years ahead. The Year 4 children enjoyed special pre-wedding activities for Jack on Wednesday followed by a special lunch with the staff.
This morning we hosted a very successful ‘Donuts for Dad Father’s Day’ breakfast. Every child took home some donuts for their dad’s even though they may not have been able to do the drop off at school this morning. We thank our beautiful fathers and grandfathers for all they do for our students and all the staff at Trinity would like to join with the children and wish you all a very happy and relaxing Father’s Day and hope you enjoy the day being spoilt by your children and grandchildren. A special thank you to Mrs Cooper and Mrs Birks for organising the breakfast. This was followed by our Kinder to 3 students presenting a liturgy for Father’s Day followed by an assembly showcasing the fantastic learning that is happening in the K-3 classrooms. It is unfortunate that we are unable to have parents at our liturgies or assemblies due to COVID19 restrictions, but all families can access the liturgy and assembly on our YouTube channel. We thank the K-3 students and their teachers-Ms O’Brien, Mrs Lucas, Ms Corcoran and Mrs Birks for their assistance preparing the assembly.
Today we participated in our first Mini Vinnies fundraiser. The children organised a house spirit crazy relay challenge as well as the guess the dots on the footy jumper competition. The children wore their favourite footy colours to school and had such an enjoyable time participating in the relay and the guessing competition. We thank Ms Wade and Year 6 for their organisation and all funds raised will go towards raising funds for research for Kids with Cancer.

Next Friday Trinity will be participating in National Walk Safely to School Day. Any children who wish to walk to school are to meet Mr Niddrie, Ms O’Brien and Ms Wade from 8:30am to 8:45am at Coddington Park. National Walk Safely to School Day, is celebrating its 21st anniversary. It encourages primary school aged children to build walking into their daily routine, by walking to and from school, not just on this day, but every day. The national initiative also promotes improved diets, environmental action, better use of public transport with reduced car-dependency and the vitally important road safety message: “Until they are 10, children must always hold the hand of an adult when crossing the road”. It also encourages parents and carers to walk more, reducing dangerous traffic congestion around schools, while minimising the risk of Australian children developing heart disease and diabetes.
Top 5 tips for parents to get their kids walking to school:
- Walk some of the way or if you can, walk all the way to school
- Get off the bus, train, or tram a few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way
- Leave the car at least 1km away from school and walk the rest of the way
- Set your alarm 30 minutes earlier to fit in a walk to school
- If you can’t walk in the morning, walk home after school
Sabbath Week: We hope you have had a relaxing Sabbath Week this week, enjoying the homework free week and spending quality time with your children.
First day back for Term 4: Students will return to school for Term 4 on Wednesday 14 October. The Monday and Tuesday of that week are pupil free days.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and a very special day for all our dad’s and grandfathers.
God Bless and keep well,
Marylou Gorham
