From the Principal
Last Sunday 10 of our Year 4 students received the Sacrament of First Eucharist for the first time. The ceremony was very special, and the children were extremely reverent and respectful. It was lovely to see all the families of the candidates and many of the staff from Trinity at the Mass to help celebrate this very special occasion. We thank Fr Lolesio Gisa, Ms Wade, Mr Niddrie and Mrs Doolan for their assistance to prepare the children and ensuring the day was so special.
Yesterday we participated in a school liturgy in honour of the Feast of the Assumption. On the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, we commemorate the end of her earthly life and assumption into Heaven. The children reflected on the life of Mary and why she is so special to everyone. A special thank you to Mr Niddrie, Mrs Doolan and Ms Wade for organising the liturgy.
It is wonderful to walk around and spend time in each class and see how the students are striving to achieve their learning goals and consistently applying themselves in the classroom with their learning. Teachers are seeing students making huge academic gains especially in Literacy and Numeracy. This is very much evident in the classroom in every KLA and it is extremely rewarding for all our staff especially the teachers who go to enormous lengths every single day to ensure the children are challenged academically, spiritually, physically, socially and culturally and to ensure that the learning is pitched at each child’s point of need. If at any time you are concerned about your child’s academic performance, please don’t hesitate to contact the class teacher via email or phone and they will endeavour to contact you. As you are aware, the learning of each student is a partnership with their parents.
A very special thank you to all our Trinity families and staff for their hard work selling the chocolates. The chocolate fundraiser is now completed. Please return all monies raised and any chocolates that are unsold, to the front office as soon as possible.
Yesterday each family was given a small book of raffle tickets to sell in a trailer load of wood. Winter is not yet over and everyone loves to keep warm. Who could ask for more with a trailer load of wood delivered to your door! Please get behind this great fundraising initiative organised by the Community Council and support Trinity.
Just a reminder that the School Counsellor is at Trinity next Tuesday, 18 August. Please contact the front office if you'd like to make an appointment for your child/ren.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
God Bless and keep well,
Marylou Gorham
