From the Principal

Welcome Back: Welcome back to all our students and families! It was wonderful to see our students return with smiles on their faces, refreshed and ready to get back into 'the learning pit' eager to face the challenges ahead for the term. The Year 5/6 students and Ms Wade were extremely happy to return to their classroom on Tuesday with all repair work completed.

Professional Development: On Monday Trinity staff joined the Western Region schools in a spirituality day, presented by Fr Richard Leonard a Jesuit priest. The topic of the presentation was “Catholic identity: How can Catholic Education form believers in a media saturated culture? He was a very inspirational speaker and he provided some frightening statics regarding children and media usage. Did you know that children aged between 10-18 spend 1.5 hours at home on the internet and 7 -10 year olds watch between 2.5 hours of TV a day?

COVID 19 Update: Each day we continue to monitor the situation with COVID 19. All NSW Schools continue to be safe and operations are in line with AHPPC,CS NSW and NSW Health guidelines. Non-essential adults are still not permitted on school grounds or at school events.  This includes parents and carers. Physical distancing of children in schools is not required by the AHPPC guidelines. Research has shown limited transmission risk associated with school children in the school environment. Students should continue to bring water bottles from home to fill at water bubblers rather than drink directly from the bubbler.  We continue to provide additional cleaning, and hand sanitizer is available in each classroom and toilets. We will resume school assemblies, but they will be limited to 15 minutes and no external visitors. We will also resume school masses and liturgies but we are limited on attendance. Should your child be away from school because they are unwell, there is no expectation that they complete schoolwork. It is important that unwell students rest. If a student is absent for more than three days without a medical certificate, this will be recorded as an unauthorised absence and followed up by the school.

Trinity Open Day: Unfortunately with the current COVID environment, will are cancelling our Open Day that was scheduled for Wednesday 12 August. However, we are running tours after school from 3.30pm-6pm by appointment only from Monday 10 August to Thursday 13 August. Please call the Front Office to book an appointment.

Prayers Please: Sympathy is extended to Julie Doolan and her family on the recent loss of Julie's father George Fitzgerald. Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts.

Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Pick up & Drop off arrangements: The pick-up and drop off arrangements which were put in place last term, still continue. Please park your car in front of the presbytery so the children can exit and walk to the gate. A teacher will be on duty at the front gate from 8:45am to 9:10am. We request that parents maintain social distancing practices at all times when coming to and from school. If in the event your child/children are late to school or being picked up early, you are still required to sign them in and out with social distancing practices in place at the front office.

Hennessy Year 7 Orientation Day: Due to the new Covid guidelines Hennessy are unable to continue with the Year 7 2021 Orientation day this term. They will review dates for this over the coming weeks.

Have a wonderful weekend.

God Bless,

Marylou Gorham
