From the Principal
Yesterday, Trinity students had so much fun participating in activities in recognition of Refugee week. During Refugee Week we raise awareness of the issues affecting refugees and celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society. The children participated in a range of activities including cultural food and cooking, cultural art, sports and cultural music and dance. What a wonderful way to raise awareness for students of the issues affecting refugees. The activities focused on the importance of harmony and togetherness which was evident as the children rotated through each activity. A special thank you to Ms Wade for her organisation and the teachers for their preparation and planning of activities. The children had a fabulous time and especially enjoyed making and eating the falafel and tzatziki dip. Check out the photos in the newsletter!
Last night, the Director of CE, Ross Fox, some Principals and CE staff slept outside to raise much needed funds for the homeless as part of the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout. Today, Trinity students supported the Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn Sleepout by having a mufti day for a gold coin donation. Well done Trinity who raised $90.50 for this worthwhile cause.
We look forward to our Open Day this Wednesday June 24 from 9:30am to 11:50am. We welcome all preschoolers and their parents to come along and experience a range of KLA activities and a tour of our beautiful school. The preschool students will be provided with fruit for fruit break and at 11am will enjoy a barbecue lunch and drink before heading home or back to Bunyip. Parents are invited to have a school tour with our Year 6 leaders followed by morning tea with the Principal. There are wonderful teachers and fantastic learning happening here at Trinity so spread the word and promote our amazing school!
The School Counsellor will be at Trinity this Tuesday. If you would like your child to see the Counsellor, please drop into school and pick up a form or contact Leanne at the front office and we will send it home on Monday. The form must be returned by this Tuesday.
I would like to keep one of our past students, Molly Innes in our prayers. She has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is undertaking surgery next week.
Father God, we humbly pray for Molly, give her the hope and courage she needs each day. Comfort her in the pain she is going through and bless her with healing. Strengthen her family, friends, and caregivers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
When you are drop off and/or pick up your child/ren please ensure you comply with the 40 km zone around the school and park in the allocated zones. Police are patrolling the roads around the school. Please comply or you may risk a fine! For the safety of our children and parents, please comply with our road safety rules. This way we can keep everyone safe!
Stay well and stay safe!
God Bless,
Marylou Gorham
