From the Principal

It is wonderful to walk around the school and see how engaged the children are with their learning. They have come back and are very enthusiastic and loving being back in the classrooms. The children look so smart in their winter uniforms and are to be congratulated on their smooth transition back to school. Each week we share a snap shot of their learning in the newsletter plus regular updates on FaceBook. The children are very proud of their achievements and love sharing with you all.

Our next Community Council meeting is Monday June 1 at 5:30pm. If you would like to be a member of our Community council, the position of treasurer is vacant. This job is not too arduous and you will be given guidance when you first take on the role. So please give it some consideration. If you are interested in this position, you are most welcome to contact Charlie Lucas as Council Chair or myself to further discuss the role.

Enrolment Period for Trinity: The month of May commences the enrolment period for Catholic Schools for 2021. At this stage we are postponing our open day until later this term. If you happen to know of any parents who would like to send their children to Trinity, please ask them to contact the front office for information regarding tours and enrolment.

Did you know that it only costs $48.77 a week or $9.76 per day to send a child to Trinity? This is very cheap for the excellent education and 1:1 learning assistance that your child is provided.

Research on how parents choose schools across Australia tells us that word of mouth remains the most important source of information for parents considering which school best meets the needs of their child. Choosing a school is an important decision, and we know that our best ambassadors are our students, families and staff. The Archdiocesan Catholic school system has a particular responsibility to welcome, accept and support those who are poor, marginalised and in most need. Our conviction is that no student will be refused enrolment or be disadvantaged because of an inability on the part of parents/guardians to meet financial requirements.

If you know of a family who are interested in attending Trinity but have concerns about meeting the financial requirements, can you please pass this information onto them.

Covid 19 and Drought Relief Money: This week the school fees have been sent home. We were very fortunate to have obtained fee remissions for Covid 19 and drought relief money which has been given to each family in the form of fee remissions to the value of $247 per family.

World Support Staff Day: On Wednesday, the school thanked our Support Staff as part of World Support Staff Day on the 17th May. Thank you to Mrs Davis, Mrs Burns, Mrs Birks, Mrs Edwards and Mrs Bassingthwaighte for everything you do at Trinity.

Stay well and stay safe!

God Bless,

Marylou Gorham
