From the Principal

As of next Monday, all students from Kinder to Year 6 may return full time (5 days a week) to Trinity Primary School. We are looking forward to having everyone back at school and we have missed all of you. If your child has a medical condition that places them at greater risk from a return to face-to-face teaching at this time, please contact their teacher so that we can discuss their needs in greater detail and develop an appropriate plan for their circumstances. We will offer one form of learning at school and not the remote online learning platform currently being offered.

PICK UP AND DROP OFF ARRANGEMENTS: If travelling to and from school by car, parents are to park outside the old presbytery. Children are to walk along the footpath outside the presbytery and into school while parents/carers remain in the car. When departing Trinity in the afternoon, the children will be spaced 1.5 metres apart and will walk to their parents/carers car when the teacher tells them to leave. Alternatively, the children may be dropped at the foot bridge and leave with walkers in the afternoon and hence, collected from there. A teacher will be on duty at the front gate before and after school to ensure your safety and the safety of your family. We request that parents maintain social distancing practices at all times when coming to and from school. If in the event your child/children are late to school or being picked up early, you are still required to sign them in and out with social distancing practices in place at the front office.

Winter uniform: From this week all children are expected to be in their winter uniforms. We have an ample supply of uniform items available for sale or second hand at Trinity. Please contact the front office or come in and make your purchases.

Enrolment Period for Trinity: The month of May commences the enrolment period for Catholic Schools for 2021. At this stage we are postponing our open day until later this term. If you happen to know of any parents who would like to send their children to Trinity, please ask them to contact the front office for information regarding tours and enrolment. Did you know that it only costs $48.77 a week or $9.76 per day to send a child to Trinity? This is very cheap for the excellent education and 1:1 learning assistance that your child is provided.

Research on how parents choose schools across Australia tells us that word of mouth remains the most important source of information for parents considering which school best meets the needs of their child. Choosing a school is an important decision, and we know that our best ambassadors are our students, families and staff. The Archdiocesan Catholic school system has a particular responsibility to welcome, accept and support those who are poor, marginalised and in most need. Our conviction is that no student will be refused enrolment or be disadvantaged because of an inability on the part of parents/guardians to meet financial requirements.

If you know of a family who are interesting in attending Trinity but have concerns about meeting the financial requirements, can you please pass this information onto them.

Mother’s Day Breakfast: Today many of our Mum’s experienced a remote breakfast and drove by Trinity and savored the delicious egg and bacon rolls that the staff prepared. A special thank you to Ann Burns and Jo Birks for helping with the cooking and organising.

Communication: Communication to our parents and carers is always a priority. Please check our Schoolzine App for newsletters, upcoming events and annocements. Notes are always sent home for key events but don’t forget to check FaceBook for notifications or the newsletter which is emailed out to each family every Friday and can also be viewed on our website.  The newsletter is also available via hard copy from the front office on request. Please ensure you make it a priority to read our amazing newsletter as it is informative and will help keep you updated with what is happening in the school and community.

Wherever you are this Sunday we hope all of our mum’s and grandma’s have a very special day.

Stay well and stay safe!

God Bless,

Marylou Gorham
