From the Principal
Interim Reports: Today the Interim reports for each student, are being sent home. This is an opportunity to check in with each child, to see how they have transitioned back to school and for Kinder students, how they have settled into their new learning environment. The focus on the Interim Reports are on work habits and social skills. Should you have any concerns regarding your child’s academic performance, please don’t hesitate to email the class teacher or leave a message at the front office and they will endeavor to return your call. All parent interviews are to be made via the phone due to the risk of spreading infection.
Emails: If you have emailed a staff member lately you may have noticed our new agreement on email protocol. In recognising work-life balance for our teachers, Trinity staff may not respond to emails between 4:30pm and 8am during the week and not at all on weekends. We hope you support our endeavor to promote a healthy work-life balance for our staff.
COVID-9 Virus: A huge thank you to our Trinity parents for being so understanding of the social distancing parameters that we have had to implement in order to comply with the prevention of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As you can appreciate, every day we are given more information regarding updates and requirements. Our aim is to ensure that all times, the health and welfare of our students and staff are not compromised at any time. There have been many changes that the students are now undertaking, for example sitting 1.5 metres away from each other in the classrooms and when lining up. Our cleaner, has been very vigilant with additional duties, along with general cleaning duties. As mentioned in the previous newsletter, please ensure all emergency contact details have been provided to the front office, particularly if you have changed phone/mobile numbers and/or addresses and/or emergency contacts in the past year. Should your child/children appear unwell please keep them at home otherwise, if they present to school unwell, they will be sent home immediately. We will continue to promote and teach students good hand and respiratory hygiene to prevent the spread of germs. We will continue to provide you with regular updates and information as it is but at this stage, schools will continue to remain open.
COVID-9 Virus Survey: Yesterday a survey was sent home to each family for the preparation of a contingency plan, if in the event schools are closed. Can you please assist us by ensuring the survey is returned to Trinity, no later than this coming Monday, March 23.
Harmony Day: On Monday we will be celebrating Harmony Day. The ongoing message & theme for Harmony Day is ‘Everyone Belongs’. Students are asked to come to school with an orange accessory to their school uniform. Orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. In order to celebrate Harmony day at Trinity with respect to the parameters implemented to prevent the spread of the COVID_19 virus, each class will celebrate activities in their class group not outside doing rotational group activities as previously advertised.
Please check our school calendar at the back of our newsletter, as many events have now been removed from our Trinity school calendar. Don’t forget to check the Trinity website and the regular updates on Schoolzine and FaceBook.
Have a lovely weekend!
God Bless,
Marylou Gorham
