Home Reading

Children have commenced homework and home reading. Please ensure their readers are returned regularly for swapping and homework is in their school bag for marking when completed. We cannot stress enough the importance of reading. Children need to read EVERY SINGLE night aloud and in silence. Even a child who is fluent and on chapter books needs to read every night to develop reading skills.

Working with Children's Check

As of January 2018, it is a requirement that all parents and grandparents who wish to volunteer to assist in the classroom or at school events have a Working With Children Check. This is easily obtained by going online to https://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/child-safe-organisations/working-with-children-check, completing the form, then going to Service NSW (RTA) to finalise. You are most welcome to come into school and apply for it on our computers here. It is free for volunteers. Once you have a number please send into the front office along with your birth date so it can be verified.

Parents, if you should happen to change your phone, mobile numbers, emergency contacts, home address or email addresses, please notify the front office. If you would like to receive the newsletter via email, please also notify the front office so we can add your email address to the parent list.

Return & Earn

Here’s the pic of Jemima returning the bottles donated to the school for return and earn. We returned over 500 bottles (517 to be exact!) which brings our school total to 2089 so far ($208.90).
