From the Principal
Last Sunday if you were fortunate enough to attend mass at St Anthony’s, you would have witnessed a very beautiful induction ceremony for Fr Lolisio. The Archbishop celebrated the ceremony and during his sermon he reminded us all that many of our priests leave their homeland to come to Australia and we are extremely blessed that they are prepared to do that for our parishes. Congratulations to Emi Mann-Rea, Jemima Mergard and Talia McKay who sang beautifully during the mass.
On Wednesday we had our ‘Meet and Greet’ evening. Parents and teachers from Trinity and Hennessy had a lovely time catching up and we welcomed several new families. We welcomed many of our ex-students back who are at Hennessy and it is great to see them making amazing academic gains. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the start of our school year in our new outdoor space. If you were unable to attend on the evening, all notes distributed by each class teacher, were sent home yesterday. Please check your child/children’s bags if you have not already received them. A very special thank you to Hennessy for providing the BBQ and refreshments, Trinity for the cheese platters which were beautifully presented by Amy Mergard and Sammi Mann-Rae and beautiful steaks from Cooper’s Butchery. At Trinity we have an open-door policy so if you wish to speak to myself just drop in or contact the front office so a time can be arranged. If you wish to speak to your child’s teacher, please email them directly or contact the office for a time. Teachers are very generous of their time but are extremely busy before school preparing for the day and are not always available then.
Next Wednesday at 12:30 pm we will have the Induction Mass at St Mary’s Church for our Ministers and all Trinity staff. This is a wonderful opportunity to pray for our leaders and staff and wish them success in their roles for the year ahead. Following Mass there will be an afternoon tea in the Library courtyard, provided by the staff. We invite all our parents, grandparents and parishioners to the Mass and morning tea. We hope to see you all then!
The BMX track is up and running and the children are absolutely loving it! The children have rostered days on, and they are sensibly following safety and road rules. We still have 6 more bikes plus two bike stands to erect if you can spare some time, we’d love your help! It is wonderful to see the children enjoying the benefits of the fundraising efforts of the community.
This Monday, Trinity will be hosting the Western Regions Swimming carnival at the Harden Pool. We wish all students competing all the very best of luck and a very special thank you to Donna Wade our Sports coordinator, for her organisation and the many parents and staff who have offered to assist on the day. We hope you can come along and support our children and/or assist on the day.
Playgroup at Trinity will commence this Thursday, February 20 at 9:30am. Playgroup is for 0 to 5 year olds and is a wonderful opportunity to come along and meet other families and join in for music appreciation, free play, story-time and borrowing with the Principal. Please bring a plate to share for morning tea.
The next Community Council meeting will be held this Wednesday, February 19 commencing at 5:30 pm. This meeting will be an Open meeting followed by the Council meeting commencing at 6 pm. We would love you to come along and chat with us about our plans for 2020 and we would also welcome new parents on our Council. We hope to see you there!
Don’t forget to check the Trinity school calendar, Trinity website and the regular updates on Schoolzine and FaceBook.
Have a great week!
God Bless
