From the Principal
As the term is quickly coming to an end it is timely to reflect on the magnificent achievements of our students this term as well as significant events. It has been a particularly busy term but we have experienced many moments to celebrate student success both in and out of the classroom. These events are always celebrated with spadeful’s of Trinity enthusiasm and style! Just to list these events clearly exuberates the amazing staff who work tirelessly to enable all of these things to happen to ensure our school continues to be the vibrant learning community that it is. The many key events this term included, Grandparents day, Public Speaking, hosting CE staff school visits to showcase the wonderful teaching and learning in class rooms, NAIDOC week, Family and School Masses, National Science Week, Preschool Art and Craft, Father’s Day breakfast, Infants and Primary assemblies, Parliament, Bunyip Buddy reading, Book Week activities, Trent Barrett Shield, Todd Woodbridge Cup and Infants and Primary excursions.
Today, Emi Mann-Rea is competing in the Western Regions Public Speaking Finals at Boorowa. We wish Emi the very best of luck and we are so proud of her to be a finalist!
The NAPLAN results will be sent home with the Year 3 and 5 students today. We are particularly proud of the improvements achieved across all areas of the curriculum. Of particular note was the growth from Year 3 to Year 5. Well done to our students and teachers.
Last week we said our farewells to Father Joshy with an amazing mass and barbeque which was such a fitting tribute to Fr Joshy who has done so much to ensure that our faith continues to be at the heart of all we do in our community. We are sure Fr Joshy will settle in quickly to his new parish and he was presented with a jacket to ensure he keeps warm in winter which was generously funded by our parents and staff. We welcome Father Lolisio Gisa as he commences in our parish this week and we are sure he is going to love being our Parish Priest.
Isn’t it wonderful to see the fantastic improvements to our school oval? A very special thank you to our Community Council for enabling this and to our wonderful parents and students who enthusiastically raised the money to ensure we could do these improvements. We can’t wait for our Library outdoor furniture and sails to arrive so we can fully utilise the space outside the library. Next term we will be having our next major fundraiser to enable us to complete our outdoor areas. So please ensure you check the newsletter, School Calendar, Facebook and SchoolZine App for notifications of this. We need everyone to support our fundraising events to enable improvements to continue to happen at Trinity for the benefit of our students.
Next Wednesday, September 25 we will conduct Learning Journeys from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for each student to showcase their hard work this term. Please come along, bring your children and celebrate their achievements. A barbeque dinner and refreshments will be provided from 5pm, so we look forward to seeing you all there!
Next Friday is Footy Colours day so the children can come to school wearing their favourite footy team colours for a gold coin donation towards cancer research!
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the Spring weather.
God Bless,
Marylou Gorham
