Good afternoon parents and carers,
Reflections for the week
There are times in life when you take a chance, other times you take an even bigger chance. When I accepted the position at Trinity for 2021, I took a chance, I didn’t really know how it would pan out. When my husband and I bought our home in Boorowa, April 2021, we took an even bigger chance, what would happen at the end of 2021. Now we are delighted that I am the permanent Leader of Team Trinity and Beck, Ben and team Trinity are leading with me. I am blessed to be in this significant position and hope that each of you feel I am approachable and always available for you.
Covid continues to be a significant part of our everyday conversation. Next week the following changes will remain-

Focus on learning
This year we have had a significant focus on reading and the Science of Reading. As the year progresses our focus on reading will lessen and a focus on writing will rise. Last year all students participated in the Little Scribe program. The program introduces students to authors, their writing techniques, character and plot development. This week teachers have been preparing students to get the most out of the live stream for next week. I have spent time in 3/4 Albert asking students to describe their characters, with responses such as greedy, immature, lonely, distressed and dangerous I am confident our focus on vocabulary in writing is prevailing.
With the emerging focus on writing comes critical literacy, the skill of students critiquing the written word and therefore becoming more precise in the written word. We are a pilot school for a programme that brings current affairs and news to primary school students every day and gives teachers the tools to teach media literacy. The programme will enable students from years three to six to read and write for an audience and notice the nuisances of the text.
Processes, procedures and information
I continue to be concerned about the number of families who are not reading correspondence from Trinity. If you have any suggestions as to how we can reach all parents please do not hesitate to contact me on 6386211 or caz.perryman@cg.catholic.edu.au
My door is always open for you.
Caz Perryman
Leader of “TEAM TRINITY”
Mary Magdalene – Disciple of Jesus – Feast Day July 22nd.
Who was Mary Magdalene?
As Jesus moved throughout the country, teaching and talking about God, he was accompanied by a group of women. Mary Magdalene was the main woman in this group.
Mary came from the town of Magdala in Galilee.
It was a thriving centre of the fishing industry, producing smoked fish in large quantities.
It was also known as a manufacturing centre for fine wool and woollen dyes.
Many Greeks lived in Magdala, and the town had a worldly Hellenistic culture. This was quite different to a traditional, conservative village like Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown.
Remains of ancient Magdala still exist about two kilometres from the modern village of Migdel Nunya (meaning ‘fish tower’). This village was almost completely destroyed in the Arab-Israeli war.
Mary Magdalene Travelled with Jesus
Two groups travelled with Jesus:
- a group of men led by the apostle Peter and
- a group of women led by Mary Magdalene.
It was the common practice for men and women to accompany each other when travelling, but they moved in separate groups.

School Mass
Year 5/6 will lead a school mass on Thursday 29th July. Unfortunately, we are unable to invite parents and community to celebrate in the mass. During the mass we will join in prayer for a resolution to the current Covid crisis facing the world.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Wishing everybody a wonderful week.
God bless,

Unfortunately, due to the delay in the new Tennis courts being ready for use, we will NOT be commencing Tennis for sport on Monday. The Tennis Club Committee have indicated that the courts should be ready for use within the next couple of weeks and apologise for any inconvenience.
In the meantime, Trinity will participate in skills and drills in their own class sport at school until we can head down to the new courts.
