Dear parents and carers,
It was lovely to see so many parents, grandparents, special friends and Hennessy students at our Athletics Carnival on Tuesday. Thank you all for attending, it was a wonderful day.
COMPASS
Compass is an online platform management system for schools. It was developed in 2009 and is now used in over 1800 schools across Australia and beyond. Our Archdiocese has taken this management system across all CECG schools. There are two phases to the process, and we are currently in phase one. This phase involves attendance.
How does this impact on parents?
At the Front Office you will find the “Compass Kiosk”:
If your child has an appointment and you are going to pick them up early, you will need to come to the “Compass Kiosk” and sign your child out.
If your child has had an appointment and you are going to drop them back to school, you will need to come to the “Compass Kiosk” and sign your child in.
If your child is late to school, you will need to come to the “Compass Kiosk” and sign your child in.
If you are a visitor in the school you will need to come to the “Compass Kiosk” and sign yourself in.
Although new processes can be challenging, Compass will significantly streamline many school areas of the management of school life.
Compass includes a parent portal and in the future the following functions will be actioned at Trinity;
- all absent notes will be processed through Compass- parents we ask for your cooperation in this transition.
- payments for excursions and other items can and will be processed through Compass
- parent information and notes will be accessed through Compass
- school reports will be accessed through Compass
These are some of the ways that Compass will make a difference. Please do not hesitate to speak with myself, Leanne or Rebecca if you need further clarification.
Peace be with you.

Whole School Mass
Next Thursday Mrs Bear and Year 3/4 will lead our school community in prayer at a whole school mass. We warmly invite parents and friends to celebrate this mass at 12:50pm at St Mary's Church.
Reconciliation Week Theme
More than a Word
Reconciliation
takes action!
Reconciliation Prayer
Holy Father, God of Love,
You are the Creator of all things.
We acknowledge the pain of our history,
and the sufferings of Our peoples,
and we ask your forgiveness.
We thank you for the survival of Indigenous cultures.
Our hope is in you because you gave your Son Jesus,
to reconcile the world to you.
We pray for your strength and grace to forgive,
accept and love one another,
as you love us and forgive and accept us
in the sacrifice of your Son.
Teach us to respect all cultures.
Teach us to care for our land and waters.
Help us to share justly the resources of this land.
Help young people to find true dignity,
and self-esteem by your Spirit.
May your power and love be the foundations,
on which we build our families,
our communities and our Nation,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Religion in Year 3/4
This term, Year 3/4 have been exploring the New Testament and delving into the Three Worlds of the Text to discover some more about what life was like in Jesus' time. Year 3/4 have been challenged in their thinking in the last two weeks as they have located passages in the New Testament, categorising them into narratives, parables, miracles or letters to better understand the writer's purpose.
Can you categorise the following passages?
Romans 1:7-12
Matthew 1:18-2:15
Mark 4:35-41
Luke 16:19-31

Yr 5/6 Open House
Year 5/6 presented an amazing open house assembly this morning. The class boarded a plane to Asia and took the audience on an 'epic' journey of their learnings so far this term. Well done Year 5/6!
Peer Support
This week in Peer Support students will introduce a 3-step model to encourage resilient responses; Pause, Plan, Proceed. The students take part in an activity to identify their feelings and the immediate effects on their bodies ie butterflies in their stomachs. The normalcy of feelings is acknowledged and the importance of being proactive is stressed. The students learn that pausing when they are emotional is helpful. They can do this by being still, taking a deep breath or counting to ten. Pausing gives children space to see a situation more accurately before planning a response. Ask your child to describe the 3 steps of the model and what is involved in each one.
ROBERTS House take the GOLD in 2021
Students, staff, parents, grandparents and friends gathered at Trinity on Tuesday for our Annual Athletics Carnival. The school grounds looked amazing for our carnival with special thanks going to Dave Menz for mowing the field and Charlie Lucas for marking the field for the day. Their dedication and commitment to ensuring the grounds were perfect is commendable and we thank both Dave and Charlie for their continued support.
All day the students participated with enthusiasm and great team spirit in each of their events. The day started with team marching and chants. The children marched superbly in front of guest judges, Mrs Perryman and Ms Middleton, who were both more than impressed with the quality of marching, making their task of judging difficult but they managed to fine tune a result with GOLD House declared the winning ‘March Past’ team, followed by RED House and BLUE House awarded third place. Mrs Perryman and Ms Middleton then had the tough task of judging the first chant for the day. Again, teams delivered with enthusiasm and ‘gusto’. After much deliberation, the judges awarded an equal first to BLUE House and RED House followed closely by GOLD House.
Congratulations to the GOLD House proudly taking ownership of the winning house trophy after a day of friendly competition and gruelling determination. With only 3 points separating the teams, RED House finished second to a very close third BLUE house. A special thank you to the House Captains and Ministers Talia McKay, Tom Bassingthwaighte, Sammy Daken, Archie Quinn and Jemima Mergard, Riley Jackson, Jaslyn Killick and Willow Stevenson, and Angus Oldfield. The captains were well supported by our wonderful Year 5 students. We thank all our senior students for preparing the entertaining chants and for their amazing leadership. WELL DONE to all our Trinity students for your extraordinary marching, cheering and sportsmanship over the day.
Unbelievable Support
Once again parents and grandparents gave so generously of their time to assist in many ways. The carnival would not have been possible without their overwhelming support. Everyone’s combined efforts contributed to a very successful and enjoyable day. Special thanks to Kirsty Summerfield with the support of Ali Betts who coordinated the BBQ and canteen, supported by the many parent helpers who served delicious hot and cold food all day. Thanks to all who baked slices, biscuits and cakes which were appreciated with the hot cuppas. Thank you to all parents who assisted with field events, novelty events, setting up, packing up, taking photos and carnival preparation. Please accept our sincere appreciation. The staff also are to be congratulated on their outstanding support and assistance. We had overwhelming support once again from Hennessy students who helped with field events and recording all day. We are very lucky to have the support of our ex-students and greatly appreciate their efforts. A special mention to Mrs Jill Parker for her continued support of our carnivals at Trinity. Jill helps Leanne in the recording tent at every carnival. Our Trinity family are very appreciative of the support Jill gives every year.
Tug-O-War Entertainment!
The entertainment provided by the Trinity and Hennessy students and parents at the conclusion of the carnival was again one of the highlights of the day!! The Sporting Houses Tug-of-War and the fun relays were most entertaining with enthusiastic cheering from the children and supporters. The Tug-O-War competition was again a highlight of the day and held in good spirit with sheer determination shown by our Trinity and Hennessy students, parents and friends. Well done to all competitors for the wonderful entertainment and fun provided.
Students’ Achievements
There were fantastic efforts put in by ALL our students at the carnival this year. What an exceptional group of students we have at Trinity! Every child was willing to participate and offer their peers support and encouragement. We witnessed some great achievements both on the track and field, including a Trinity athletics record broken by Dara Olotu who ran 28:78 in the Junior Boys 200m, breaking the 2014 record of 32:56 held by Hugh Squire-Wilson. Congratulations Dara. Every child is to be congratulated for their outstanding efforts throughout the day in every aspect of the carnival.
