As most of you will have heard, Marylou has been appointed the Principal of St Bede’s Catholic School in Braidwood. Marylou has filled the position of Principal here at Trinity for the past 6 years. We wish her all the best for her new position and the move back to her old family home.
The role of Acting Principal for 2021 will be announced towards the end of this term. A panel of CECG staff will be formed and they will go through a selection process that will assist in making the best decision for the new Principal of Trinity.
Yr 5/6 Camp: On Wednesday this week Miss Wade and Mr Rodney Cooper loaded up a bus full of extremely excited Year 5/6 students and headed off to Cooba for the annual Year 5/6 camp. We hope they have had a fabulous time. No doubt we will be greeting some very tired campers on their return this afternoon! We would like to thank Miss Wade for her organisation of the camp and Mr Cooper for assisting with the supervision and driving the bus.
COVID-19 Restrictions: The restrictions around COVID-19 have been lifted again this week and we are now able to host our Year 6 Disco, Year 6 Graduation and Presentation Night as per usual. This is going to make for a jam packed end of year but our Year 6 class deserve to end their final year of primary schooling (which hasn’t been the easiest of years) with a BANG! More information about COVID restrictions will be coming home next week.
Yr 6 Disco: Please save the date - Friday 27th November 6:00-8:30pm here at school. More information will come home next week.
We are having a colouring in competition in line with the Year 6 Disco. Students have received their competition to complete at home and bring into school to be judged by Tuesday 24th November, 2020. There are some awesome prizes up for grabs. You’ve got to be in it to win it!!!
Presentation Night: Save the date – Tuesday 8th December 2020. Held here at school, 6pm start. Formal invitation to be sent home next week.
Graduation: Friday 11th December 2020. More details will come home in Week 7.
Remembrance Day 2020: On Wednesday Year 4 students represented our school at the Remembrance Day service held at the Light Horse Park near the Terracotta. Thank you to Mrs Jill Parker for making a wreath for our students to present at the service.
Kinder Orientation and Information Morning: On Thursday 12/11 we held our second day of Kinder Orientation. It was a fabulous day and the children had a lovely time completing a selection of activities and hanging out with their ‘big school’ friends. We look forward to the last day next Friday 20/11 which will be a full day (9am-3:10pm). Lots of fun activities to be had on the day with costume making in the afternoon! We thank Miss O’Brien for all her hard work and effort into making Kinder Orientation a fantastic experience for our little people.
Mrs Gorham will be hosting a Parent Information Morning on the last day of Kinder Orientation (20/11). It will start at 9am in the school library. If you know of anyone that might like to attend please pass on the details.
Have a restful and relaxing weekend,
God Bless,

NAIDOC Week
Theme: Always Was, Always Will Be.
Recognises that First nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
8-15 November 2020
This week is NAIDOC Week in Australia. Trinity began the week with a NAIDOC Liturgy in our Church. Our Prime Ministers, Poppy Lucas and Tilly Bowman, began the liturgy acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which we gather at Trinity, the land of the Wiradjuri people.
During the liturgy we respectfully celebrated our First Nations people who have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. Through prayer, music and reflection, the children at Trinity raised an awareness and appreciation of the Indigenous culture and heritage of this land, acknowledging the deeply respectful and spiritual traditions of our ancestors.
NAIDOC activities continued throughout the day with activities which included:
- Basket weaving
- Indigenous Literacy
- Indigenous Art
- Indigenous Language
- Indigenous Maths
- Indigenous Sports
The children were also treated to a taste of damper with butter and bush berry jam at recess. What a wonderful day of learning about our Indigenous Culture.
Remembrance Day
On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. The signing of an Armistice brought the First World War to an end. Remembrance Day falls on the 11th of November each year. On the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month, a minute's silence is observed and dedicated to those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation. Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.
Please click on the link below to listen to the song ‘Remembrance Day Child’ and take time to reflect upon and respect our fallen men and women who fought for the freedom in our land.

Prayer for Deceased Veterans
O God, by whose mercy the faithful departed find rest, look kindly on your departed veterans who gave their lives in the service of their country. Grant that through the passion, death, and resurrection of your Son they may share in the joy of your heavenly kingdom and rejoice in you with your saints forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Thought of the Week
Wishing everybody a wonderful week.
God Bless,
Donna Wade

This year all students from K-6 have been given a Home Reading Log where they are to record their reading each night.
It has been great to see the number of ‘Reading Nights’ children have recorded in their home reading log.
Once children reach a reading goal of nights they are rewarded with a sticker for their book from Mrs Perryman.
Keep up the great reading!!
