During the past four weeks I took some long service leave and much the opportunity to spend time in Darwin with my daughter, son-in-law and grandchild. As you are well aware, travel has been restricted so I have not seen them for over 8 months before I visited them. I had a lovely time and arrived back on Sunday and have spent the week trying to adjust from 34 degrees and the humidity to the freezing cold weather that we have been experiencing. I had a lovely break and it is wonderful to be back. I am extremely grateful to Mrs Rebecca Cooper who stepped up as Acting Principal in my absence and our amazing staff who supported her. The Book Week activities were amazing and as you well know Trinity staff and students always go all out. Thank you to Julie Doolan, assisted by Jill Parker who conducted our annual Book Fair last week. We are ecstatic with the support given from students and parents who came along and purchased books. This has enabled Trinity to raise funds to purchase books and resources for the library.
Happy Teachers Day to our amazing teachers!! Each day our wonderful teachers go above and beyond to inspire our children to achieve and ensure they are nurtured and cared for. We are truly blessed here at Trinity.
This Monday is All Souls Day. There will be a 9am Mass for All Souls Day, at Sacred Heart Church Cootamundra. Everyone is welcome to attend, but if you cannot make the Mass you are also invited to leave a picture and/or flowers in front of the Altar as a gesture of remembrance for your loved ones on that day. You can bring your Photos to Mass on the weekend and leave them to be placed in front of the Altar on Monday.
During the school holidays our school hall has received a face lift. Last year we were successful in obtaining a Community Grant to enable us to do much needed renovations on the hall. It looks fantastic thanks to Brett Johnston who painted the hall and this weekend we will have the blinds installed. We hope sometime soon we can invite all our families in for a social event to view and celebrate the renovations. We are extremely grateful for Donna Wade who obtained the grant for us.
Next Friday we will be participating in Day for Daniel. This is an annual event in Australia where we raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. We would like all children to wear something red to school-socks, hair ribbons, tee-shirts, joggers etc.
Next Wednesday we will be conducting the first of our 2021 Kinder Orientation days. The day will commence at 9:10am and conclude at 12pm. This will be followed by additional days on Thursday November 12 from 9:10am to12 pm and November 20 from 9:10am to 3:10pm. We look forward to welcoming the preschool children to Trinity.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
God Bless and keep well,
Marylou Gorham
Socktober – Mini Vinnies Initiative

- Making sockballs.
- Designing prayer Mandala’s.
- Participating in awareness games such as the ‘Egg Toss’ – signifying how lives can be fragile and at times shattered due to circumstances.
- Listening to stories and watching video clips of children and their families in poverty-stricken countries.
- Creating a poster of LOVE – signifying how our love and support can help others.
We finished the afternoon parading our ‘Wacky socks’ whilst dancing the Hokey Pokey to show that we, at Trinity, are prepared to 'Sock it to Poverty!

Day for Daniel
Day for Daniel is Australia’s largest day of action to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. Held annually on the last Friday of October, Day for Daniel honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe.
Parents, carers and educators are encouraged to start a conversation with children and young people about personal safety. Trinity will be celebrating this day next week to further raise awareness of child safety.
World Teacher’s Day
Teachers (with support from parents and carers) have ensured education continues across the country this year, despite major challenges. It has reinforced the significant role teachers play in the lives of children and students, their families and communities. On Friday 30 October, say a big thank you to teachers and celebrate the bright future of teaching.

Year 4
On Tuesday, Year 4 welcomed Fr Lolesio into our learning space to discuss the special Sacrament, Anointing of the Sick. The students posed questions, leading to a rich discussion around the process, history, and significance the special Sacrament has for Catholic followers. We would like to thank Fr Lolesio for coming and sharing his personal experiences and expertise and welcome him back into our learning space any time!

This year all students from K-6 have been given a Home Reading Log where they are to record their reading each night.
It has been great to see the number of ‘Reading Nights’ children have recorded in their home reading log.
Once children reach a reading goal of nights they are rewarded with a sticker for their book from Mrs Gorham.
This week we celebrate 25 Nights Reading.
