Parent Teacher Meetings: It was wonderful to see so many parents participate in the Parent teacher meetings this week. Parent feedback was extremely positive. Parents as partners with school in supporting student learning can have a significant and long lasting positive impact. If you were unable to come in for an interview this week, please contact your child’s class teacher and arrange an interview at a mutually agreeable time.
Book Fair: This week, a very successful Book Fair happened at Trinity. In total our amazing parents spent close to $2000 on books with a large percentage going back to Trinity to purchase valuable literature for the Library. Thank you so much to Mrs Doolan and Mrs Parker for all your organisation and assistance with the purchase of the books and setting up and packing away the display! The children loved coming into the Library and selecting their books to purchase! We look forward to our next Book Fair.
Enrolment Period for Trinity: The month of May is enrolment time for CE schools. If you know of any children who would like to come to Trinity, please encourage them to come up to the school for a tour at any time for a tour and to visit our classes in action.
Parliament: The Year 6 students conducted a very informative Parliament on Tuesday. Ms Wade and the children presented a beautiful reflection for National Reconciliation Week. ‘Grounded in Truth, Walk Together with Courage’ was the theme for the focus this year. This journey requires all of us to walk together with courage. This National Reconciliation Week, all Australians are invited from all backgrounds to contribute to working towards a unified future. We hope you all took time this week to reflect on this.
Walkathon: Today we conducted our Walkathon prize draw. The students raised $6000 with Hamish and Digby Clark both sharing first prize of a bike each for raising the highest amount of money which was $310 each. Followed by a close second by Chaz Cooper. All our students received a prize from the lucky draw which was a reward for their hard work raising the money and they will receive their special pizza lunch in the coming weeks. The students blew our target of $3000 and almost doubled it! What an astounding effort! Congratulations to all our students and our parents for supporting this wonderful initiative. Again thank you to Mrs Doolan and our sponsors for supporting us
God Bless

URGENT Community Council Positions Vacant:
Unfortunately, we have been unable to fill all positions. I urge all parents to consider taking up one of the following positions: Community Council Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Events and Promotion person. We meet twice a term and the meetings go for no more than an hour. The next Community Council meeting is on Monday June 17 at 6pm.
Book Café: This term the students in Year 5 and 6 attend on Monday afternoons at the Terracotta from 3.30pm – 4.15pm. The children are reading ‘Kids Who Did’ & what a book it is!! The cost is $2, which covers a light afternoon tea.
Buddy Reading: The Year 5 students are visiting Bunyip each Wednesday for about 20 minutes in their recess break for Term 2. This is a fantastic program where the Year 5 students read a story to our little friends at Bunyip.
Toddler Gym: This free 8-week balance and coordination program is a great way for Mums, Dads and carers to get out of the house while building important developmental skills in their toddlers. There are two sessions available – Wednesday 2pm-3pm & Thursdays 9.30am-10.30am. Please contact the front office if you are interested.

Making Jesus Real
This week’s focus has been on ‘Reconciliation’ in affiliation with National Reconciliation Week. This week our Minister’s Parliament Session concluded with a special reflection highlighting the need for Reconciliation in our world and a cross our nation. We pray that we may open up our hearts so that we may hear the message of peace Jesus taught: the message of a world in which the wrongs of the past are recognised - a world in which a reconciled people walk and talk together sharing stories; a world in which all burn with the desire to live in peace and justice.

Our Trinity school community wish Amber all the very best as she takes on this challenge.
Archdiocesan Cross Country
Next Tuesday, 4th June, Bea Lucas will be travelling to Canberra to compete in the Archdiocesan Cross Country carnival in the 8/9 year division. We wish Bea all the best as she takes on this challenge in sport.
Mortimer Shield
Students from Year 5 / 6 travelled to Young on Wednesday to compete in the Mortimer Shield Rugby League and League Tag competition.
The children all had a great time, even in the blizzard-like weather, showing great sportsmanship and determination in their games.
Our girls League Tag team played two games before bad weather set in and caused the final game to be cancelled. They lost their first game against West Wyalong, 1-3 and won their second game against Young North 2-0. Well done to Sara Collins and Poppy Lucas who were our try scorers for the day. Congratulations to Sara Collins who was voted by the team as ‘Player’s Player’ for the day.
Christian and Chaz joined the combined team of Boorowa Central and St. Joseph’s Boorowa to play under the team name, ‘The Barbarians’. The boys played four matches for the day. The won their first two and lost the last two. All scores were very even and the competition was tough. Their team manager for the day expressed how pleased he was with their keen attitude and great sportsmanship.
Year 5 / 6 would like to express a big thanks to all parents and Miss Wade who helped with transport, supported them on and off the field and provided great coaching tips.
Thank you for your continued support of sport at Trinity
Have a wonderful week
Donna Wade
