Reflection
This week I was pleasantly surprised by an unplanned visit from Fr Loli. I am often inspired by his wisdom and knowledge. This week he spoke to me about the need to be fully present in this moment, to love and take careful consideration for those among us, right here right now. Society can give us a conflicting message of bigger and better, wear this, buy that, holiday here, travel in this, it will be better when..... As God's people of hope and love we are called to listen with the ear of our heart, to be fully present in each moment, it can be in these moments that God speaks to us. Fr Loli's words of reassurance on Wednesday, were to me, one of those moments where I was being carefully listened to and cared for. How blessed we are to have the faith, presence and support of our Parish Priest. Thankyou Fr Loli.
Learning
At the Community Council this week Mr Jack Niddrie and Mrs Rebecca Cooper shared data to demonstrate the progress in learning that is being made by our students. This year we have fully implemented a Science based approach to reading with significantly high results. The program Multi Lit encompasses a number of reading programs that cater for the wide range of needs within a classroom. One method of data collection is called a WARP, which is a timed reading passage assessment. The results you will see speak for themselves. The average expected growth is 11 and you will see our average was 11.2, followed by term three where the expected growth is 10 and our growth was 19.9.
This data demonstrates the growth over time all our students are making, congratulations students, teachers and classroom assistants for these magnificent results.
Please look out for a You Tube clip that we are currently putting together for parents to see the excellence in learning at Trinity.
Processes, Information and Procedures
You will have received a letter regarding Compass this week. Compass is an online management tool that all schools within the Canberra Goulburn Archdiocese are using. It will significantly impact the efficiency of many aspects of schooling, including absences and parent communication. As previously mentioned reports will not be printed out and sent this year, they will be available on Compass. Downloading the app is the first thing you will need to do to be able to access your child's report.
Covid restrictions remain in place and continue to be a challenge for staff. I am currently looking into the possibility of having our Presentation Night onsite. Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate these Covid times. A few reminders:
please do not get out of your cars of an afternoon or in the morning.
primary (year three to six) are encouraged to wear masks.
staff are no longer required to wear masks outdoors.
the whole school can now gather for assemblies, however parents are unable to attend.
if you are requested to meet with a teacher, proof of vaccination is necessary, otherwise an online meeting can be arranged.
Yours in knowing, loving and serving,
Caz Perryman
All Saints Day – November
During the month of November, we remember and pray for all Saints and those who have entered the Kingdom of God in Eternal Rest.
All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually on November 1. The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven. It precedes ‘All Souls' Day, which is observed on November 2, and is dedicated to those who have died.
Prayer for All Saints Day
Thank you, Lord, for the tremendous sacrifices made by those who have gone before us. Bless the memories of your saints, Lord. May we learn how to walk wisely from their examples of faith, dedication, worship, and love.
Amen

K-2 have been learning all about Prayer. We watched a very informative infographic about How to Pray and Where to Pray. Based on this we made our own posters to teach others more about praying. Here is the QR code so you can watch the infographic too.
We also had Fr Loli visit to tell us why Mary statues often have a snake wrapped around her feet. He told us about the connections between Mary, God, Adam, Eve and Jesus. We love having Fr Loli in our room, we have missed him lots!
Last Thursday we also hosted the Grandparents’ Liturgy to bless and thank all of our Grandparents for their unconditional love and support. Below is the link in case you missed it and would like to share it with any Grandparents or special friends. Link: https://youtu.be/1_oLoTZ0YuI
Year 3/4
Year 3/4 impressed Fr Lollisio this week with their comprehensive retelling of the parable of the Good Samaritan. Students were challenged by Fr Lolli to look at the three Worlds of the Text and with support, students explored the character choices by Luke and how this changes the meaning of the text. We can't wait to step back in time next week to discover what life was like for the first disciples.

Metal Detector Club
This year, several senior students have been involved in an exploration initiative during lunchtime play. They developed what is now known as the ‘Metal detector Club’. They are dedicated to fossicking plots around the school yard for treasures ‘young and old’.
They have developed a keen interest in researching the history behind the treasures they discover. They are currently building a mud brick enclosure to store some of the larger specimens of old building materials they have discovered.
This has been an incredible learning journey inspired by their own initiative whilst exposing some of the history of our school and grounds.
A local Cootamundra businessman heard of the students interests and donated a number of opal bearing specimens from the Lightning Ridge area to stimulate their interest in minerology to further develop their project. The children were so excited to receive these specimens and have written a letter of appreciation to the benefactor.
Tennis at Trinity
Last term Trinity received a quantity of tennis equipment through the Sporting Schools funds. Unfortunately, we have not been able to use the new tennis courts in town due to the delay in the courts opening. However, students have been enjoying playing tennis over the past four weeks on the refurbished basketball court area.
The children from K-6 have been involved in ‘Hot Shots’ tennis skills and drills, led by staff, during whole school sport on Monday afternoons.
New Basketball Courts at Trinity
The basketball courts at Triinity have had a makeover, with new surfacing. They look fantastic and the students are enjoying using this space again.
