Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal

Thank you to all the families who have provided donations for the Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal. It is great to see so many tubs filled with donations. Our Mini Vinnies team will gift box the items. We will be delivering the Christmas ‘Giving Boxes’ next week.

Advent

Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas. This week is the first week of Advent. Year 5/6 led a beautiful Advent Prayer Service on Monday morning in the church. Advent means ‘coming’ and it is a time of preparation, waiting and praying for the arrival of Jesus.

During the First Week of Advent, we watch and pray, awaiting the Lord’s coming. The season of Advent reminds us that we can look forward to and prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas. It is a season of so many things: of expectation, reflection, hope and trust. We must wait, and Advent reminds us that we are waiting for God. How strange it is to think that in a way God also waits. He always waits for us to come to him for he never forces himself on us, and when we do come to him, he is delighted and will give us many graces.

This week, we recall the HOPE we have in Christ. The prophets of Israel all spoke of the coming of Christ, of how a saviour would be born, a king in the line of David. They spoke of how he would rule the world wisely and bless all nations.

This Sunday is the Second Sunday of Advent.

“‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.’ John the Baptist appeared in the desert proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.”

During the Second Week of Advent, Year 3/4 will lead us in prayer as we light the candle of PEACE, a sign that God's promises will be fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ - Prince of Peace.

Peace is a gift that we must be prepared for. God gives us the gift of peace when we turn to him in faith.

Graduation Mass

grad.jpg

Next Friday, 10th December at 6pm, we will formally farewell our Year 6 students at their Graduation Mass.

Due to the Covid restrictions and the need for extra room, the mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Church in Harden. During this special mass Year 5 and 6 students will celebrate the traditional handover of Leadership Lantern Ceremony. Mass will be followed by a Graduation Supper for the Graduates and their families at Jackson’s Bakery Courtyard.

We are thankful for our wonderful Year 6 leaders in 2021. We thank God for all they have contributed to our school. At Graduation, we take the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and present their hopes for the future. We pray that they may continue to challenge one another and, journeying in faith, hope and love, follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

We wish Tom, Cheyanne, Sammy, Riley, Jaslyn, Talia, Jemima, Angus, Archie, and Willow every success for their future. We pray that they may take away with them fond memories of shared experiences that Trinity has given them and the bond of true friendships that will last forever.

May the class of 2021 continue to LEARN and SUCCEED. As a school community we pray that they may go forward with their lives, keeping their Faith strong and their friendships true, achieving their dreams, facing their challenges, aspiring to great measures, and spreading God’s message of love to all of whom they meet.
